For a small town Chinese buffet, you're not going to find better. I frequently drive 40 minutes to eat here over my local Chinese places. Their buffet is not the largest, however they make up for it with quality. They also have some of the lowest prices in North West PA and do not charge you for your fountain drink. A couple can get a buffet for less than $20 even at dinner.
They have fantastic Singapore chicken. Their General Tso's will not be what everyone is expecting as it has a lighter, sweeter sauce with fruit undertones--if you eat it without expecting the more common, darker and more bitter sauce, you'll be blown away by this different take on the dish. They have a limited, but fine variety of sushi. Their broccoli and chicken is much more tender and more robust in flavor and appearance then many of the sad offerings of this dish from other local places. Their Mongolian beef/chicken and zucchini chicken are also good. This is also one of the few places in NW PA that makes a sweet and delicious honey chicken that doesn't taste just like ketchup mixed with honey, like so many others.
Like any Chinese restaurant, it will have faults. Chinese food is best fresh, so judging something that has been sitting out a bit is unfair. Assuming that it will be as big as city restaurants is unfair. Sometimes the quality varies some, however they are consistently...
Read moreMy friend and I had lunch here yesterday 5/3/19 and we were going to be in Edinboro so I reviewed some Chinese restaurants and found that Ocean Buffet had GREAT reviews. So we decided to go to lunch and we were VERY surprised on how we were treated and many other things. We almost walked out before I had even payed because the woman at the register was busy on her phone and when she finally noticed us it was like we were bothering her. After paying we asked about drinks just to make sure that they went with the meal and was VERY RUDELY told that they were free. I usually don't keep my mouth shut when it comes to rude people but I just let it go. The food was okay, it wasn't fantastic and it wasn't sickening either. They DEFINITELY need to mark on what's being served, some was listed however MANY wasn't. Their were a few times that I got in the way of staff and I said excuse me and all they did was grunt or moan. NOT ONE SMILE DID I SEE FROM THE STAFF! My friend had the same experience as well. My friend and I were both so VERY EXITED to eat here but was VERY DISAPPOINTED ☹️. Who know, EVERYONE has bad days, maybe we just caught them on a bad day I don't know. I will go back in the future just to see if it is like this ALL the time or we just picked a...
Read moreI used to come here every week but this lady at the front desk is not very welcoming. The guy that works there is so sweet but that lady just ruined it for us. She acts like she hates her job and always walks around looking mad. 🙄 The food is not too bad but not as good as it was a few years ago. Me and my friend went a few weeks ago and we were talking with another lady while I was waiting for them to bring out more noodles and she interrupted us like we were bothering her with us just standing there talking. Then this time My husband just paid her and held his hand out to get his change and she wouldn't even hand it to him. She went over his hand and dropped the money on the counter next to him. Pretty rude! Thank God that's not the only Chinese place around. We drove from erie to get treated like that. I've been going there for so many years and these last few times were enough for us. Hire friendly people or she will cost you even more customers. Sadly I'm not the only one who has had issues with this lady at...
