
Terrible! I looked up this gym online and decided to go for a month-to-month trial to try it out. I swear to god, thatās all that I did, just trying it out! Please donāt beat me for it!!! :_(
The lady at the reception told me that the monthly peek-plus subscription is $29 + I must pay $150 enrollment fee in advance! And showed me the catalog where the fee was written on a piece of paper she taped to it! :O
so of course I didnāt sign up! Who, but the 1%ers, will pay $150 for anything before walking through the door or even signing up yet!
I went back home but I felt something must be wrong about that, so I checked their website again and it said the fee is $5 only! O.o so I called them and the guy who answered the phone had no clue what I was talking about. And he told me that, yes, the fee is $5, and that thereās an offer for this month so itās WAIVED!
I went back to the gym and a different guy was behind the desk, I sat down, he asked me if I need any help he told me to wait until heās done with the other customers, so naturally I waited. After he was done and I was the only customer left he began walking back and forth, texting on his phone, and not even looking my way, for like 10min before finally calling me!
He said that itās true. The fee is $150, but itās waived-down this month for only $5 because of an offer, and he showed me the catalog which this time didnāt have paper taped to it!! I said āgreat, sign me upā
but he then told me that I MUST register my card for recurrent payments, and that thereās a $60 āannual feeā that I will be billed 2 months later and must be paid even if I decided to drop out! And it can only be waived if I let him bill me for a whole year in advance + sign a contract!! O.o
he then explained to me that āitās because we have a poolā and that the fee will also go to āTrainers!! Donāt you like to see trainers around when you work out?ā so itās sorta like the pharmaceutical companies infamous scam where the hack the prices up and say itās to āresearch better medicinesā which the congress called it āpitiful fablesā and that the only thing they research is better CEOās yachting!
When he saw that I wasnāt gonna go for it he said āTell me what your goal is?ā āAt this point, saving money!ā And he said āIf you want to save money then donāt sign up for a membership. Donāt buy anything else either!ā
Now hereās a hint: whenever you come across an employee like that, who doesnāt care about his employer so much so that heās turning away new customers, you just know that thereās an even worse management who hired that guy in the first place!!
Now hereās the funny part:
I went to another crunch. And the lady there was super friendly, and she told me that I donāt need to enlist my card and I can just pay every month. the membership is for 21$. The sign up fee is only $5. And that the annual fee is $49! Not $60!! Which will be billed after 3 months! Not 2 months!! And I donāt have to pay it if I dropped out before that!!!
She also told me that the membership includes ALL CRUNCH GYMS, including the overpriced gym I was at earlier!
I told her to sign me up, and she told me to wait, then said my membership will be reduced from $21 to only $10 for the first month!!! Because they have an offer!!! XD
So, in the end, I paid only $10. No commitment. No contract. And I still get to go to the evil gym I was at earlier if I like!!! XD
The moral of the story is: the employees at this gym are terrible! They think that ācustomer serviceā means that all you have to do is smile when members come in to scan their badges, VOILA! You are a customer service expert!!! O.o They have no idea what their own gym offers are, or are trying to manipulate it for god knows what reason!! And they will do anything to scam you or force you to buy more than what youāre...

Both managers happened to be at the front desk that day and they were both very sweet and apologized and that they sat down with the team to review expectations which I really appreciated. My goal was not to make them look bad but to bring awareness that everyone should feel absolutely comfortable walking into ANY gym as it can already be intimidating walking into a new gym. The goal is to always feel good walking into and out and they definitely exceeded my expectations this past week following our conversation. Thank you Mat!!
linitially came to this gym using ClassPass and decided I loved how calm it was here compared to when I use to go to EOS on Sports Arena seeing as Ive had a couple uncomfortable experiences there on top of how busy it always is. I was REALLY leaning towards getting a membership with this location seeing as I finally cancelled my membership with EOS but today definitely made me question my decision. I walked in around 12:50-1:00pm, when I approached the girl at the front desk she was already having a conversation with another member so l waited until she was done before she looked over at me as if I interrupted her conversation and said "did you need something" and was not the least interested in helping me. I started to try to explain to her that the last time I came in the bald gentleman told me after I signed in for my ClassPass told me if I wanted to come back to get more of a feel for the gym that I could do a 3-day trial. She was very dismissive and barely let me speak. She then told me she is not going to do the 3-day pass, but she can do the one day and said "you're good" and waved me off. I decided to just walk away because I was fine with her saying no seeing as someone else told me something different but her demeanor was terrible and uninviting. For the first couple of months they kept telling us that the repairs were actually done and they were waiting on the county to come and inspect. Finally, I called the county and the county said the repairs had not been done. Then, because I called the county I was accused of being the one who turned them in. Because of the false accusations I called the manager upset. So, after six months of being lied to, the manager there told me they had not done any work on the pool, because of the costs. He said they had been instructed by their bosses to lie to the customers. Now, he is no longer working there. No one will tell me how to reach actual management, so donāt believe the message they will give with an email address, it is not to anyone who has any authority or power to fix this issue. The new management is right back to telling us they are waiting on the county to inspect. It is a lie. Some people I know have been going there for over 20 years. Many of us NEED this pool.
