Asylum Comics — Local services in El Paso

The employees/owners are pretty nice, and they have frequent sales and fun events. One of the better stores in town for sure.

My only grievance is that the longboxes can be hard to navigate. Most of the boxes on top of the tables are alphabetized, but then some are not, at least not entirely. Same with the boxes below the tables. The weirder thing is that there sometimes seems like there's an order, but I've never understood if there's a rhyme or reason to it. I mean, I don't expect the $1 comics to be organized alphabetically, that's a waste of the owners' time, I get it. But most of the comics are cover price or above. Some of the stuff at the bottom will make me go, "Oh! It''s variants and recent releases at the bottom!", but then I'll see some five year old comics that I'm pretty sure have the regular covers... I don't know. Also pretty confusing that a lot of stuff doesn't have a price sticker so once I get to the registry it's a bit of a mystery what comic cost what. Still, none of that is a detractor to my enjoyment of this shop, I just wish I could browse a little more...

I went to sell some nice comics to them today ..I went in the store some guy with glasses took my box of comics and pulled out the ones he wanted he called Greg over the owner and asked him what he thought about the ones he pulled Greg said " those are easy sellers" so I took a minute to calculate a price and the price I gave him was 50 percent retail of all the comics which is a great deal but the dude with glasses told me they didn't have the money which was weird to say and told me these comics are hard sellers 😂 which a second ago Greg said they were easy sellers.... all in all I told them they were sleazy scumbags for lying and trying to rip me off.....I've shopped their with family for years now they lost...

Amazing shop, I live across town and have a my weekly pull list at my home comic shop. BUT I will be making a point of visiting Asylum Comics every week from now on as well. Not only did I find every back issue I was hunting, not only were the boxes and shelves filled with all the variants I could ever want, but the owners are just downright pleasant to be around. When I'm flipping through boxes I absolutely love hearing the banter of relevant comic and entertainment hot topics and that's exactly what you get here. Great job Asylum, and...
