I Painted That! — Local services in El Paso

Shocks me to see such great reviews, but makes sense. These reviews are pretty dated.

My experience was absolutely TERRIBLE to say the least, at the west side location that is.. You basically pay for the class upfront with a reservation, which is fine.

Upon arriving, the instructor didn’t greet anyone. Instead, we got greetings from the other participants.

The instructor, who didn’t introduce themselves to anyone, simply gives you a canvas with a pencil drawing on it, two brushes, paint and water.

She offered no useful guidance to anyone. She wasn’t engaging anyone in the class. So STRANGE!! Instead, we I do usually has to ask which brushes to use, what kind of strokes to use. I mean there was zero guidance, and to top it off, she advised the class to leave “whenever we wanted.”

It was a total waste of money, which is why I’m completely surprised with the high reviews. Maybe they’re better in the east side location or they must’ve been good altogether a long time ago.

Advice, do not waste your time and money here. This was EASILY one of my worst experiences anywhere.

Went there for date night, and was so excited to do the couples painting. Unfortunately the experience was nothing to remember. As we arrived our canvases were not even ready, despite us making a reservation and paying in advance per policy. Leaving us with a painting that did not match. She left to the back and had everyone waiting because she was trying to draw the canvases. So quickly that even an arm was missing, when we pointed it out she just came and painted it and said I hope it matches up…it did not. Once the class started, we were not really instructed to do anything, she probably spoke like 3 times throughout the whole class! You’re better off watching YouTube tutorials. It’s sad that at the end everyone actually walked out and she did not even care. I can’t even name her because she didn’t even greet or introduce herself when we arrived. So I have been dying to attend one of these classes for ever and a day. I finally got the opportunity to, and it was a very enjoyable experience. I attended a class at their westside location, which was a nice little studio set up. I arrived late (per usual) and although a bit annoyed the instructor allowed me entry. 😊 The BFF and I had a good time, but it wasn't as carefree as I thought it would be. They time every step you are supposed to do, and the instructor was a bit stern, although helpful. Will definitely be going back, but will try out a different instructor next time.
