TechPro Audio and Video — Local services in El Paso

In mid December, the wife and I decided that our Christmas gifts to one another would be a new home theater. She'd been asking for something in our rarely-used family room for years and we finally decided to make it happen. We reached out to Adrian at TechPro Audio and Visual from an ad we saw on our local TV. Adrian visited our house on a Saturday, surveyed the situation, created a plan and on Thursday, five days after the initial meeting, the work began. We had a tight schedule, wanting to have everything completed before the holidays. The team recognized the constraints, rolled up their sleeves and got right to work.

Since we had been saving for this project and didn't want to go half-way, we went big. Adrian and his team installed what I believe to be a top of the line system, projector, six Homekit-enabled LED recessed lights, ceiling mounted surround sound, fully integrated AppleTV and Harmony hub and, the pièce de résistance, a 112" recessed, motorized, tensioned screen.

There were some hiccups and difficult discussions with TechPro, as there would be with any job of this magnitude. Some things were said, some difficult offensive and defensive conversations ensued and, ultimately, trust had to be relinquished to the professionals.

After four full days of work, Adrian and his team converted our previously unused living room in what we now believe to be our favorite room in the house. The workmanship, professionalism, attention to detail, follow through and ongoing communication was just what I expected. This 1978 house, with all its flaws and defects, now has a space that we're proud of.

So I’ve had a few TVs mounted from this place . They’ve always been decent in pricing and they get the job done. This last time we did business it was a nightmare, no joke . First off they send some unqualified techs to mount a 82in Samsung tv . The reason I say unqualified is because they were exactly that. It seemed like they had no clue on what they were doing. Unfortunately at the time they showed up I was headed out to work and my wife was the one who had to deal with the headache . They gave her two options of where the tv could be mounted . The two options that were given were not appealing at all and they told her it could not be mounted higher . Long story short the supervisor had to come out to the location and we were able to get it mounted where we wanted but they charged us extra for they’re mistake and the funny thing is that when the manager was headed out to my home the unqualified, unprofessional employees were trying to get signatures from my wife signing off of where the tv was mounted the first time . Petty service . Will never use again and they left my sound...

Other than the one time we used them several years ago and wrote a very nice review, it has been nothing but high prices ever since (even after clearly expressing our desire for them to be conservative when designing their solution). They quoted us $18k for an audio system to provide background music in our business. Then recently quoted us $17k for a cellular signal booster. That was after the $300 fee charged for the on-site survey.

Unfortunately, we can't begin to explain what changed and we also can't leave our positive review up encouraging others to do business with this company as we would no longer do business ourselves with TechPro Audio & Video.
