Short story long:

Went to a place and made a deal. Turns out I was lied to directly to my face. Like, in my face. Standing there in front of each other making eye contact within 6 feet. The CDC would have been disappointed. I was disgruntled. I was disheartened. I was hurt, to say the least. So, we canceled that deal. We pick up our refund and, on a whim, head on over to American Freight (Formerly FFO Home) and are greeted at the door by Heidi.

Naturally skeptical from our last experience with the last unaffiliated furniture store, we exchange pleasantries and Heidi says, "I'm just gonna let you know a few things so as you're looking around you know what you're looking at. I'll pop in from time-to-time and see if you need anything."

"Pft!" I thought to myself. "She'll likely be down our throats the whole time."

Wrong. Heidi, with the grace and professionalism of a thousand Leslie Knopes, did exactly as she'd said she would. When we had questions on her periodic check-ins, she answered them and dismissed herself politely when we had exhausted our questions.

When it was time to get down to the business end of business, it was still not a sales experience, but instead an educating experience. She helped by keeping it light and fun. We almost felt as if we were underpaying for the experience we had and walked away with a good deal on good furniture.

Would recommend to anyone looking for reasonably priced furniture and a no-pressure buying experience. Heidi needs a promotion. Immediately. District Manager sounds about right... for now. If she is higher than that then whatever is her next logical promotion step.

We knew that we wanted reclining sofas and something easy to clean/maintain, but we wanted to look around and see our options. Found out they do price comparisons with their competitors, so that was great. Jeff C. Helped us and he was very professional and personable. He gave us a lot of info on the furniture. We were undecided between two sets. Jeff told me I was overthinking it, but honestly, it's a big purchase so yeah, we needed to be sure. That comment didn't sit well with me as I almost felt that he was rushing/pressuring us. However, John came over to help us as well. My husband referred to him as "the closer"! John also gave us info on the materials, cleaning, etc. And he offered to give us a manager discount ($50). In the end, John helped us decide which one fit our needs better than the leather set we were looking at. When it came time to pay, we learned the manager discount could not be used concurrently with the military discount (5%). Even though Jeff said the $50 discount was greater, we did the math and the 5% was greater given how much we were paying. Also, Jeff asked us to post a review before leaving the store; I don't mind posting reviews, but I gotta do it on my time 😉

In summary, good info, friendly people, nice furniture, but I felt a bit more pressured than I would have liked. We didn't let that deter us; in the end, we got a set we are happy with and are waiting on delivery (2 days). Good...

Originally worked with Chris, he was great. He worked with me to get the mattress set I wanted but, I could not get financing. I put down a deposit to hold the sale price while I tried to get financing. He said I would get a bunch of free gifts with my purchase. I went back the next day to cancel my order because I was unable to secure financing. Chris was not there so I talked to Brian. He was great also. He could not cancel my order since he was not the person who made the original sale. Instead, he helped me choose another mattress set I liked that I could afford. He told me I would still get all my gifts but, he was unable to add them on my new order. Brian said only Chris could add them on since he is the manager. He assured me he would make sure Chris put it on my new purchase order. My set was delivered today with NO extras. I called the store and talked to both Chris and Brian. Chris told me I do not get the gifts with this set, it was only with my original set. Brian says he never said I would still get my gifts. He said they will sell them to me for an additional $115. I was lied to plain and simple. They both seemed like great guys and appeared really helpful the 2 occasions I was in the store but, if either is going to lie, they aren't so...
