I have just had the WORST experience there today 6/9/2015. I have worked in a couple of restaurants before - so normally even if I do have a bad experience I do not write about it.
My friend ordered sushi and when it came out it was not at all what she thought it was (every restaurant has their own take on items) She told the server that she did not like it and wished to order something else instead. He stood there and told her she would have to pay for what she did not like plus whatever else she decided to order -
WHAT?????
I have never know a restaurant to make you pay for something you could not eat. I do understand that this of course is an inconvenience for the restaurant and it goes against their food cost. However, this is the business you are in. You want happy customers so they continue to come back. It was not like she wanted nothing - she was going to order something else. Would any other restaurant even have the audacity to say you were going to have to pay for the food you could not eat? If the over cooked my steak or the steak tasted bad would they have made me pay for another one?
After the server was rude and did not offer to get the manager I had to request his presence. After waiting for about 5 minutes (during a late lunch where there were only two other tables in the restaurant) the manager finally came out. He then tried to make us pay for the sushi after she said she was going to order something else. After about 8 minutes of banter between us both he finally said that he would take it off her bill. I do not understand how a restaurant could be so rude. I have just never been so irritated in a restaurant.
Our server never came back to our table - the manager came back once and barely acknowledge us to see if everything else was okay and I had to waive my server down just in order to get our checks.
YOU ARE IN THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS - THERE ARE GOING TO BE TIMES THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO RE-COOK OR CUSTOMERS ARE GOING TO NOT LIKE SOMETHING. AT LEAST WE STILL ORDERED SOMETHING AND DID NOT GET UP AND LEAVE RIGHT AFTER THAT.
I will not be returning to a place that treats their guest with such disrespect. I do know that this is not a major franchise but I do hope this gets their attention and something is done about their rude and...

First time i went to Kansai was back in 2007/08 for a school field trip, it was awesome, music was nice (instramental music,) place was clean and staff was friendly/listened well.
Mid 2010's place was still nice but food quality had decreased (noticed only time food is well made is if you do habachi and that is something i still believe to present day)
As of March 30th, 2025 i'd say avoid the place, floors were sticky, tables gross (legit watched the cleaner person half-a** cleaning the tables by slinging the rice in which ever direction while at the same time missing getting any of it in the rag) -Floors were completely sticky near the bathrooms to the point the slightly loose/damaged floorboards (guess that had or have a water leak cause thats the only time i've seen flooring look like that) were sticking to my boots. -At one point a group of people who sat down near us, one of them had to ask for a different plate cause their's had something sticky on it. And 2 point while not a huge deal compared to everything else both are still a gross issue to me -asked the waiter for lemons on the side, not in my glass (lemon rinds hold the most bacteria, i dont want that in my water) he said he could do that, still brings me 1 slice of lemon and its in my glass (not a gross factor but an annoyance i had with the waiter is i had to ask for a to-go box 3 times, 3rd time the guy scoffed and rolled his eyes at me) -there was a rolly polly in the sink (it could have came from an outside source so see this factor as you will)
Only good from this march 30th trip was habachi chef was awesome, food tasted awesome and was cooked to perfection, he kept the table entertained while he was there.
Overall even if the in-laws pay again i'll pass as place is outdated, dirty...
Read moreSadly we went here with excitement for some delicious hibachi with fun but came away with a horrible experience. As always we dislike leaving bad reviews but when it is deserved it must be done so you don’t have the same experience. When we got there it was not crazy busy at all. There was a couple sitting at an open hibachi grill and we got seated near them. We waited forever for our drinks and then for our salad/soups. Another family this time of five and were seated next to us. Literally 80 minutes went by since first couple were seated and we had our chef wander over. The grill was turned on high 60 minutes before he arrived (there are 2 chefs working the place) and the fan was on above. But it got so super hot and humid it was making our empty plates slide all over countertop and we started sweating. It was too dang hot in there. One persons face was red all over and shiny with sweat. Then we started all getting tired from heat exhaustion setting in. Yes it sounds drastic but was that bad. Chef started cooking and gave us all YUM YUM sauce. It was tangy and sour and warm tasting due to being in their container in this warm environment for who knows how long. The cook was slow as molasses and it tasted bland. By the time we got it we were so overheated and tired that our stomach just didn’t feel like eating after a few bites. Our other customers at our table had full plates as well and were finished due to not feeling well. Waitress told us after asking her (which took her another 30 minutes to check on) that AC was saying 62 in there. Haha! None of us had a comment by then. Unbelievable but she did say she could feel the heat when she walked to our corner.and it wasn’t due to our grill. Our food was wasted and we wasted 3 hours of our time in there as well. Sorry...
