Antiques Downtown — Local services in Elk River

Don't bother coming here if you want to try and strike a deal. Tried to negotiate about an antique clock they've had for 10 plus years no one's ever bought. I am a collector of antique clocks and watches and I'm very good at appraising antique clocks. This one was nothing special it was in poor to fair condition in my opinion and I truly just wanted it for something to try and fix for fun. Figured the seller would want to move some inventory so maybe they would be willing to negotiate. Lady that helped me was a bit snarky and rude and when I offered a fair price she blatantly refused and said the best she could do was 20 percent. I politely declined and in the same snarky tone she said "the right person will come along". Thought to myself "oh really it only took 10 years for someone to even make an offer and you turned me away and made me feel like a nuisance". Felt very uncomfortable afterwards. Guess it'll be sitting there for another 10+ years. If you want to deal in antiques you should be willing to give deals and I think the price I offered for that clock was more than fair considering obviously no one wants it. A few things to consider. Lower your prices. Be a little more nicer to potential buyers. Be willing to negotiate or the stuff will just sit....

Always love visiting here whenever I am in the area! The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a wide selection of different antiques, from jewelry to records to books and pretty much anything else you can think of! I personally love the jewelry section since there is such a wide variety and at good prices, you can really get a lot of amazing pieces for less than 20 dollars! A great place for all antique finds, big and small. Plan to spend at least an hour or so here, as there are so many nooks and crannys to explore with 3 stories and several small rooms with different types...

Hello Elk River residence and visitors! I love this place so much! It has many old toys that I grew up with and also lots of jewelry. I was here yesterday for the first time looking for Christmas planter decorations. I cant tell you how happy I was to find everything I needed here.
