Blue Egg Bakery — Restaurant in Elk River

I stop at this bakery every so often to grab donuts. I have never had any bad products from there, everything always tastes good. Customer service can be hit or miss though. I ordered a last minute cake for my husbands birthday and was quoted $30, however, when I picked it up the following day I was told it was $40. The cake also ended up having a filling in it that we did not request that made it a little too sweet. $10 isn’t a huge deal, but the way the woman that was working spoke to me was a little on the rude side. When I told her what I was quoted (with the girl that quoted me working and standing right there in the conversation) and asked why it was $10 more, her response was just to tell me that the decorator said that’s what it was and that’s what I have to pay. I tried to tell her again that I was only quoted $30 though and she just told me that the cake was $40. I’ve walk by few times and I’ve always said I will check this place out one of these days. Well today was the day! I had to run errands early, grabbed a cup coffee nearby and went out for a walk.
