Tipsy on Main Kitchen & Cocktails — Restaurant in Elk River

There was a lot that was left to be desired after our visit tonight. We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I made reservations for 6:30 on this Friday evening We arrived a couple minutes early and waited just a few minutes while they cleaned the table. I do LOVE the decor and how they designed the interior. Super cute! However, our server took our drink order (took 15+ minutes to get our beer which she said they had to swap out the keg so that was understandable) then took our food order and never once came back to check and see if we needed anything which I had been wanting to ask for a water for over 20 minutes. My beer was dry and it was 7:30 before who I am assuming was the front house manager (as she had just been over to the table next to us apologizing to the party of 8 for the wait time and mistakes on their food) came over to us to apologize for the extremely long wait time and offer us another round of beer and apologize for the service after I had told her that the server had never came back to check on us after taking our order 40 min before. The food portions were NOT equal to the cost and neither was the quality. The popcorn chicken was way overcooked and the tenders were about the same portion size as a kids meal at Popeye’s and not nearly as tasty and they cost $18 with no sides offered. My oldest ordered the “Grandpa’s Chili” for $11 and we figured it would be a bowl of chili but it was honestly a cup of chili. Just SO NOT WORTH THE PRICE. We will not be back any time soon. It was our anniversary and decided to give this place a try since we heard great things about it. Lots of raves from friends that had been here as well as reviews online. So we made reservations for dinner here.

The place was packed when we arrived. We were quickly seated and the wait staffs were super friendly and attentive. Best service so far.

We decided to order the wings for starter. It took a bit and the wings came out. Only thing was the wing were over cooked. It was so dry and crispy, like no juiciness at all. My chicken wings in air fryer taste so much better than these. We're like okay, maybe they just over cooked the wings. Let see how our entry turns out.

We both ordered different burgers. Unfortunately neither was good either. I ordered the smashed burger and wife the Dixie chick. The meat for the smash burger was dry and crumbly. It's not juicy at all. Wife's burger wasn't too bad, but it was a bit bland by itself. We had to use the sauce that came with our wings to add a bit of flavor.

Overall, great service which made the dining experience enjoyable. Hopefully we can visit this place again and see if that was just a one off night or if the food isn't just up to our taste. I don't know, like I was joking with the wife. Maybe our taste palette isn't as sophisticated as many who ate here, so dry/overcooked wings just doesn't taste good or dry/crumbly burger might not be up our alley. I ordered the chicken taco entrée and they were absolutely divine, especially with the cilantro lime creme sauce and extra dipping sauce. Just delicious. I was disappointed they were a bit smaller than I’d hoped and I don’t think they provided any more than a tablespoon of pico. I feel like this was cheap and stingy as I didn’t have any pico for my third taco and I felt like I didn’t have enough for the first 2. The second adult entrée was the mac & cheese and it was a very generous portion and also quite delicious. My daughter ordered the kids mac & cheese and chicken strip off the children’s menu which she also loved.

But I found it quite odd that the waitress brought my child’s meal out 15 minutes before the adult entrées. This was very confusing. We are a family that enjoys meals together and she had finished her meal before our entrées arrived. This was around 4 PM so not quite the dinner rush. The waitress was very kind and friendly but I don’t understand bringing the meals out separately. It killed the vibe and kind of ruined the experience as it was our first time there. The french fries we ordered as an appetizer came out very quickly and the quality was superb and I’m glad we got them as my tacos were small and didn’t come with very much pico at all. We may...
