I went here about two months ago with a friend of mine. I scheduled an appointment for the both of us at 4pm. My friend was getting a pedicure, and I was getting a full set. When we got to the salon at 3:50 it was fairly packed, so I already figured that weâd have to wait for a little bit. Thatâs not a problem, Iâm a very patient person. My friend was sat before me because there was no line for pedicures. I was sitting in the waiting area on my phone when a nail tech shouts from behind his desk and tells me to sit with next to my friend in the pedicure chairs. I didnât really understand why, but I got up and sat next to her. A nail tech comes over and tries to have me remove my shoes, and I told her that I wasnât getting a pedicure and thatâs I wanted a manicure. This was my mistake, I should have said full set, but I didnât really think about it. She turns around a tells the previously mentioned nail tech that Iâm here for a manicure, so she sends me to a desk in the back. I wait for a couple of minutes before she sits down and asks me how I want my nails. I tell her that I actually wanted a full set and that I was sorry I misinformed her earlier. She stands up and walks to the male nail tech and tells him that Iâm here for a full set. He turns around and says âare you sure thatâs what you want?â which I respond with yes. I assume that the girl who was going to do my nails doesnât do full sets, because she never came back. No problem, I donât mind who does my nails. Sitting next to me is a woman getting a full set done, who is complaining that her nail tech sliced her cuticles. That sucks, I canât stand it when my dried skin starts to peel from my cuticles and it ends up ripping, so I wouldnât want that to happen because my nail tech kept going in to trim a little more. Anyway, at this time I had been waiting for about 30 minutes. Not really a big deal to me, I didnât have anything to do later that day. The woman who had her cuticles cut was finishing up, so I assumed I would be next. After the woman leaves, the nail tech go up front and starts to chat with some other people. Thatâs fine, I get it, everyone needs a break. Another 20 or so minutes go by. My friend finished her nails maybe 15 minutes ago, but Iâm still waiting patiently. Only when it gets to 5:30 do I start to get annoyed. I scheduled an appointment for 4pm and itâs now and hour and a half passed my scheduled time, and I showed up early. Only when I grab my stuff to leave does the woman come back to see me. She tells me âtoday itâs $60 for you.â Which is typically more than my regular place charges, but they werenât an option that day so tough luck. She starts my nails, and just like the woman before, she slices my cuticles - multiple times. After my nails are finished, I pay and leave, and the next day theyâre already breaking.
Iâm only writing this experience now because my mother recently visited this place and had her own problems, but since I didnât experience that I can only record my own. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give as much detail as possible. From what Iâve heard from other people, the customer service there is great, but only if youâre a regular. From my experience, I can confirm...
Read moreI have been using Don and Snow as my go to for nails for years!!! I love them and the work that they do. They both are very talented with nail design and do it all by hand. I have been using them since way back when air brushing nails was all the rage. I have never been disappointed leaving there and while I have seen a few reviews about pricing, think of the time and materials it takes to do nails. They are still one of the few reasonably priced salons around. Also, saw reviews complaint about mail designs. So many of these designs people grab from the internet are manufactured nails from a machine. I can go in and if I have a problem or donât like my color or design, Don and Snow always fix it. I have broken a nail and gone in and they fix it for free and many other places charge $5-$7 dollars to fix a nail. Also, I have a lady I take care of that has had a stroke and Krista has been doing her nails when I take her in. This is challenging because her right arm and hand are paralyzed. She is so very patient with her and doesnât make her feel handicapped for the time we are there. I would highly recommend this salon but I would also recommend making an appointment and letting Don know when you call whether or not you want something more elaborate that just polish. And know where the pictures you take are coming from, are the nails you are looking at manufactured? And also ask yourself what should the owner do, eat the cost of inflation on materials and products to keep his cost down? He is trying to make a living!!! If you want a place that will make you feel like home, this is it. I have been to the other salons in Elkton and let me tell you, rude, unfriendly and higher prices. My mother, myself and both of my daughters would never use...
Read moreI would give it no star at all. I warn you this is not a spa: very rude and not clean place. First of all very rude customer service. Since I entered I was treated as unwanted although there was no customers but me. The old man was very rude and asked me roughly what I want and I told him exactly what I want. He asked me to pick a color and I was there picking another old women with very poor accent came to tell me that she will do my nail. I told her I pick this color she said pick another one this only has little, then to make this worse the old man came and said as a joke that we will not let you pick any color then he laughed. During this I was actually thinking to go out but I said to give another chance may be different cultures is the problem. When the old lady started doing my nail she put my hand on a used tissue that wasnât clean and then she started the procedure of adding the jell without doing the manicure I told her that I want to do my nails not just a color and she became so upset and she said that I said so and nothing can be indone. I insisted and I was willing to pay extra but the old man started shouting asking her to continue and not redoing it. I was really shocked by this rude treatment and in my case I was talking politely and asking for what I came to do but at the end I figured enough is enough and I told them if you want to run a business the first thing you should do for a nail spa is to be clean and relaxing which I didnât find in their âspaâ so itleft after they...
