Very disappointed. On my way home from work my girlfriend asked me to pick up her regular order of a sushi combo from Asian Garden in Elkton. (I personally don’t order from Asian Garden since it’s not my preference). The total came out to $28.29 for a Roll Combo 1. I didn’t think anything of it since I don’t personally order from here. I showed up home and my girlfriend noticed the receipt. She said that Asian Garden charged me $10 more then they should of. The price should of came out to $18.95 and she then went on their website and showed me the price that Asian Garden advertised the Roll combo 1.
I called Asian Garden in Elkton to point out the mistake. The employee went to grab her manager since this is above her head. I explained the issue to the manager. She went on and explained prices went up due to increased of food supply. I told her that’s fine and I understand but before ordering the employee didn’t mentioned that to me and the website still reflected the old price. I asked if they can accommodate me a refund the difference of price or give me credit for the next order since my girlfriend orders from here all the time. She said the only thing she can offer me is 10% off for the next order. That’s only a $2.90 savings and it didn’t make any sense to me. Since the “Manager” couldn’t help me I asked who was her boss. She replied saying that she is the boss. I repeated the question and said who does she report to? The manager replied the owner. I asked for the owner information. She said that she will have the owner reach out to me instead. I was ok with that and now waiting to see if the owner from Asian Garden will reach out to me
From the time I spoke to the “Manager” the tone on her voice was defensive and somewhat argumentative. She could have held herself to a better standard and be a better representative of Asian Garden.
I’m aware it’s only $10 and it’s not going to kill me or break me BUT i do work hard for my money and it’s the principle! You can’t advertise one price and say a different price. If you need to increase your price I FULLY UNDERSTAND but you also need to update your in- store menu & website menu. Thats deceiving to YOUR customers. That’s like going to Home Depot and grab a tool off the shelves displaying one price and while ringing up at the register it charges me a higher price regardless if it’s a $1 to $500 price difference . The shelves need to show the new reflection of the price. I will keep this updated to see how Asian Garden...
Read moreWorst customer service experience I’ve ever had at a place that I’m a regular, loyal customer. My family & I were very frequent patrons of this restaurant since they first opened, and used to eat there 2-4 times a week. Tonight they were extremely rude to my family, and I was shocked and so disappointed. They used to treat us great and made us feel special as regulars. They knew what we wanted as soon as we came in and would bring it right out. I’m even FB friends with one of the servers just from eating there so often! And the food isn’t the problem; most things on the menu are delicious and very fresh. The female manager Toni, who works during the day is a doll. But the manager who works at night named Jess and the man who’s her boss (his name is Chong or something like that) is incredibly rude. We went in there last night to attempt to dine in. They close at 10 pm and it was a couple minutes before 9. I knew they stopped seating at 9, but I’ve gotten there at say 9:04 before & they’ve always seated me. Last night I had my mom, daughter, and my sweet little 91 year old MomMom with me. We were a bit slow getting in the door because I had my arthritic grandmother with me, but we walked in at 9:01. They literally refused to seat us even though they don’t close till 10 and I even asked for the manager & explained that because I had my 91 year old grandmother with me, it took us a few minutes to get out of the car and into the restaurant. It was literally 9:01. They absolutely refused to seat us. They have a big window facing the parking lot and could see that we had parked right in front of the restaurant in the handicapped spot, so they definitely saw us slowly coming in when it was before 9. It was so incredibly rude to turn away loyal, regular customers just because my MomMom was a bit slow coming inside, not to mention that they close at 10:00!! They should make a ONE MINUTE exception for a 91 year old lady. I had to take my MomMom back to the car & she looked so sad & disappointed. She was really looking forward to it, as she doesn’t get out much. As disappointed as I am to say this, I’ll never go to Asian Garden again....
Read moreI ordered takeout of the Chicken and Asparagus Entree, pan fried chicken dumplings and shrimp fried rice for my husband although the food was good; I had a little issue/concern with the preparation of the food.
When speaking with one of the workers on the phone I informed them there was a shellfish allergy on the order. And asked if the shrimp fried rice and my order could be cooked separately to where the juice from the shrimp wouldn’t mix in with my food. Instead of saying sure no problem, I was advised that all food is made in the same Wok! Meaning that it wasn’t cleaned in between orders even though there is a shellfish allergy.
I don’t know if this is a normal thing or not, but it kind of made me scratch my head as to why would non-seafood options be available if there is a highly likely chance it’s going to be cooked in the same pot as everything else without cleaning it out.
Maybe I’m looking too deep into this, but being told by one of the workers that I should just avoid eating anything at all because of my allergy, just made me upset. I have an experienced background in Food Service and being a cook and I never had that be an issue when preparing food. We instead ensured that the quality of food was exceptional and that the allergy is taken into consideration.
I did however take the risk and ate my food anyway, so far so good but it’s still a concern I have for other customers...
