I recently had the immense pleasure of dining at Taco Master, an absolute gem tucked away in Elkton, Maryland.
Right off the bat, the tacos are just sublime. Taco Master certainly lives up to its name, serving up some of the best tacos I've ever had the privilege of tasting. The freshness of the ingredients is immediately apparent, a symphony of textures and flavors in each bite. The meats were tender and perfectly seasoned, while the vegetables were crisp and vibrant, both expertly balanced by the fresh, warm softness of the tortillas. It's a culinary fiesta in each bite.
Equally impressive were the fajitas. Sizzling, aromatic, and absolutely loaded with flavor, they are a true celebration of Mexican cuisine. The grilled peppers and onions were tender and flavorful, beautifully mingling with the well-marinated, succulent meat. Served with warm tortillas, the fajitas were interactive and fun to eat, allowing a customizable experience that added a personal touch to the meal.
The service at Taco Master was nothing short of exceptional. The staff were attentive, friendly, and highly knowledgeable about their menu. They were eager to share their recommendations and answered any queries with a genuine passion for their craft. This level of service greatly enhanced the overall dining experience, making me feel more like a guest than a customer.
Furthermore, I appreciated the restaurant's clean and vibrant decor, which beautifully reflected the vibrant, lively nature of Mexican culture and cuisine. The ambiance was relaxed yet lively, making it a perfect spot for both a casual lunch and a festive dinner.
In conclusion, Taco Master in Elkton, Maryland, is a must-visit for both the locals and visitors to the area. Read moreMy husband, our friend, and I stopped in here today. We moved up here after living in South Florida. I’m Hispanic and grew up surrounded by flavorful, well-seasoned food across many Latin cultures, so I was really looking forward to trying this spot. Unfortunately, this was some of the driest and blandest Mexican food I’ve ever had, and it left me disappointed enough that I wouldn’t return.
I ordered the chicken fajitas, but the chicken was dry, paper-thin, and completely unseasoned. The onions and peppers in the skillet were still undercooked—most of them basically raw. The tortillas themselves were fine, but I had to drown the entire fajita in cheese sauce and garlic cilantro sauce just to give it some flavor.
The beans (as you can see in the video) were more like soup than beans. After sifting through, I found maybe four whole beans—the rest was watery broth with some bacon pieces—and it, too, tasted bland. The rice was passable, though it desperately needed seasoning, at the very least salt and pepper.
My husband ordered the chimichanga along with a few tacos. I tried a bite of his birria taco, and what’s normally such a rich, flavorful dish was sadly flat and flavorless here. Even the margarita, which I sampled, was overwhelmingly salty—ironically the most seasoned part of the meal.
The one bright spot was the service; our bartender was kind and fairly attentive. But unfortunately, the food just didn’t measure up. With a place like Casa Mezcal in the area offering far superior flavor and quality, I left very disappointed in...
Read moreWe did takeout. Although it was takeout, I did check out the dining area and kitchen. The decor is festive and the entire restaurant was very clean. The women behind the counter were very friendly and also helped carry the order to the car for me. That’s awesome service!! Onto the food...The beans that came as a side dish for the main dinners were excellent. I think there is some bacon or bacon fat added to them that made them savory and tasty. Just right. The slices of Flan were HUGE and delicious. Definitely homemade. The fresh flour and corn tortillas were nice and hot and soft with a lovely flavor. The rice was okay at best - not too exciting. The portion sizes of the meals was decent. Now, the bad news: The main dish food was bland. It tasted as if no seasonings at all were added to the food. We actually had to salt the food to taste. The flavor was weak. Be alerted that the green side sauce is very, very hot, spice wise, with the red side sauce being medium hot. We had heard that the tacos from the truck version of the restaurant were incredible. Maybe we should have stuck with their signature meal. We will most likely go back and try the tacos. I’ll...
