I want to start by saying that the intention of my review isnât to slander someoneâs business or vent out anger, but to communicate about my experience in an honest yet respectful way because if I think itâs important for people to know a few things before shopping here. While I havenât visited the boutique's main location, I did shop from their pop-up and wanted to share my experience in case it helps others. Like many people, I was excited to see Swedish candy available, since it's become so popular lately. However, I do want to note that the prices were significantly higher than I expected. When I walked in, I was handed a bag and told that a half-pound of candy cost $16. Because of the way it was phrased, I mistakenly assumed that a full bag would cost $16 â but when I went to check out, my total came to over $40. Two small bags of Bubs alone were $12 each, which really caught me off guard. I didnât feel comfortable asking to put things back, so I went ahead and paid â but to be honest, I left feeling pretty disappointed. In hindsight, I realize now that I could have found similar products online for much less. I donât want to be unkind, but I do feel that this shop operates more like a tourist-oriented business than one focused on value for customers. I hope this helps anyone considering a visit â and again, the staff was lovely. I just recommend asking for exact pricing ahead of time so you know what to expect.
My Response to the Ownerâs Reply: I appreciate that the owner took the time to respond, but Iâm even less impressed with her business after reading it. I tried being kind yet honest in my review, but instead of handling my feedback professionally, the response shifted blame onto me, questioned my intentions, and painted my review as an attack rather than acknowledging my actual experience as a paying customer. I have every right to post a one-star review when my experience is disappointing â thatâs the entire purpose of reviews. They are not meant to âhurtâ businesses, they are meant to reflect what customers actually encounter so others can make informed decisions. Every business that deals with the public will receive criticism at some point, and how the owner responds says a lot. In this case, rather than simply apologizing for the miscommunication and working to improve, the reply came across as defensive, dismissive, and guilt-tripping. Anyone that reads her response can see that she purposefully dodges the blame and then spins it back on me, insinuating that I am the one responsible for the miscommunication that occurred. It was my first time doing something like this, so itâs on me for making an assumption, but I guess I just canât believe that the owner would write and post the unsavory kind of response they did. Thatâs not the kind of customer service I respect or would want anybody else to receive either. I will not be returning, and I definitely wonât be recommending this business to anyone else, not just because of my experience there, but because of the owners unprofessional and immature response to my review.
