Stopped in for lunch while I town celebrating our anniversary. We were sat quickly and our order was taken relatively quickly. Not a ton of time given to review the menu, and no suggestions from our waitress. I did hear other waitresses starting off offering certain app and drink suggestions which would have been helpful for us not being regulars. We ordered the street corn dip which was very good but could have been served with more chips and we would have had an empty plate. We both ordered French dip sandwiches, which were nothing to write home about. Very messy and lacked any real flavor. Our waitress seemingly forgot we existed after the food was dropped even tho she was serving the 2 tables to ether side of us. Would walk right past without checking on us. My husband even tried to flag her down twice just so we could get more napkins. After an appetizer and having a messy sandwich just the Napkin the silverware came wrapped in was not sufficient. A decent waitress would have seen the order and known to bring out extra napkins with the order directly. We finally asked another waitress who said she'd be right back but only Continued to take care of her tables. Perhaps she relayed the mesaage to our actual. Server who just ignored the request. We finally got napkins from the BARTENDER. Time for the check and she was back to being very quick and 'efficient' not even leaving the tabpe after "dropping the check" instead she hovered for my husband to get out his wallet and card right there, off she went to cash us out and was back in a jiffy. She could have very easily gotten herself a very nice tip but instead got almost nothing as she provided little to no actual service. Very disappointed. We will be back in town In few months but we will skip over the tavern this...
Read moreThis is one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I ordered the shrimp and fries. It is described on the menu as "perfectly battered". I didn't expect them to be the freshest shrimp I've ever had since it is Elijay and not by the ocean. But it was basically frozen shrimp that I could have gotten at the grocery store. I mean I've had shrimp at Red Lobster better than this. I've had shrimp at Fish Tales in Flowery Branch, GA that tastes like your at the ocean. The shrimp were covered in battered and flavorless. It was like eating a mouthful of breadcrumbs with no flavor. I can't believe they even serve something that you can buy frozen at the grocery store. On top of the fact that the french fries were lukewarm at best and some of the fries were literally cold. My husband ordered a cuban sandwich which he said was not good either. Plus his fries were lukewarm as well. My son ordered a kid's meal which cost $8. However, for $8 he only got two VERY small chicken tenders. They tasted good but they should either have given him an additional chicken tender or gave bigger sizes. It was ridiculous! On top of all this the food came out surprisingly fast. So fast that I wonder if it was just left over like I don't know how you could have cooked fried shrimp that fast. In addition to the terrible food. When the waiter came over to check to see if we needed anything, it was rushed and not like he wanted to help. He literally said "You good?" Not "How is everything?" His question was more like "Do you need anything? No, you good. Ok, bye." Plus he stood behind my back far away like he was in a hurry. He didn't actually come up to the table and he was gone before I could say anything. This place was a huge disappointment in...
Read moreWe stopped at this establishment on our way back from Tennessee and as we walked in we thought we were going to love it. We stood there for a second before we realized we might as well seat ourselves, because the staff just looking at us and not saying anything didn’t help us figure it out at all. So we sat there a couple of minutes before we were treated by Elisha. We asked her about a cocktail drink menu and needless to say they didn’t have one. We were planning on ordering cocktails but didn’t know what we wants and the fact they didn’t have any house cocktail specials we decided to get water and a coke.
We ordered an appetizer, which was basket of onion rings, which when they came out, there was no sauces for them. I asked for honey mustard which she later brought out. The onion rings were good but when I got my bill they charged us 50 cents for a small honey mustard which is worse then Zaxbys. How are you going to bring out onion rings and not give them at least one sauce?!?
I ordered the house special burger, the Tavern Bear Creek burger, Elisha said it’s everyone’s favorite. Well I got it and it was a tad dry and after adding ketchup and mustard to make it moist, it was just ok, have had better at home.
My girlfriend ordered the steakhouse burger and when it came out, it was so saturated with A1 you couldn’t taste anything else. Needless to say we were not impressed with the place and we won’t be returning.
To the Owner - don’t be like stingy zaxby’s and give your patrons sauces with their meals and don’t charge them 50 cents for a measly honey mustard. I know it’s gold in color but it’s not...
