Corner Stone is a small corner diner that needs a large parking lot. The food is quality southern cooking to near perfection, with biscuits made for royalty. Seat yourself after entering the small front door (wheelchair-bound may have an issue). The walls are covered with memorabilia and cute sayings. The large TV plays animal videos to make you laugh, and the shop has two small but clean bathrooms. The prices are fair, and the breakfast plate combos are intelligently built on things people actually want to eat. The waitresses are kind and very concerned with making your experience pleasurable. The drinks could use a lot less ice. More than two sips from a large glass filled with mostly ice would be nice. The food was served fast, which related to being hot and fresh. The grits are creamy but still need at least one butter added. My only displeasure was the gravy ,which had no sausage in it ,and somewhat bland taste outside the light dosing of pepper. The biscuit made for the gravy was fantastic. Parking is difficult in Ellijay so get there early amd be prepared to walk a ways to get there. There are many ships to oeruse along the way but this Cafe' is worth the stop if your in town.

I am confused. We waited 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Great company made the time fly so it did not seem so long, but we were really looking forward to good food and were very hungry. The only part of the meal that I could enjoy was the egg. I could not order from the menu because there were no combo plates, so everything was a side. Ended up ordering the kids nr.1 and a side pancake because they only allowed the standard omlette during high traffic times. The egg was fresh, and the grits were, "interesting." The sausage came out late for some reason, but was just a brown and serve patty like Jimmy Dean. The pancake was large and I had a glimmer of hope until I tried to cut it and found out it was a large rubbery disk that the butter sat on top of. This was supposed to be a nice birthday breakfast, but turned out to be such a disappointment. To their credit, they took 20% off the bill and the place was entirely packed. Maybe because it is the only place open on Sunday. Our server was very kind and thoughtful.

The Corner Stone Café in Ellijay, Georgia, is an absolute gem, especially for dog lovers! We visited with our golden retriever, and they couldn’t have been more welcoming. The seating is perfect for enjoying a meal with your furry companion, outside or indoor as it was a rainy day. As for the food, it’s incredible! The patty melt was perfectly cooked, with juicy meat and just the right amount of gooey cheese. For breakfast, the blueberry pancakes were out of this world—fluffy, sweet, and packed with fresh blueberries. The friendly service and warm atmosphere make this café a must-visit. Great service and reasonable pricing. Daisy will definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant (coming from someone who’s been in the restaurant industry for over 7 years). I’ve never left a review before because I understand difficulties of when it’s busy in a restaurant. However, there is NEVER a reason to be rude to customers and that is exactly what happened from multiple staff members. First, the host (small woman roughly 70 with grey hair) told a party of 5 that a 8 top was going to be sat before them, even though the 5 top was on the list first, because the table open was big enough to fit the 8 top?? When the party of 5 got confused and upset she told them “you can get upset if you want but that’s just the way things work” and walked away from them. After sitting at our table for 20 minutes, our server walks up and just says “do you know what you want?” No hi, hello, how’s your morning. Then we ask to order our food and some food to go for the kids at the house. Before we can even ask about the food to go she just cuts us off says “no.” And we were like ..? She says “we don’t do to gos on the weekend.” Which i understand not doing to gos when it’s busy, but we were going to eat there and we’re willing to wait however long just to get food for the kids. Not to mention the website says you can order online… which are to gos. When we mentioned this she said “oh yeah they just send us online orders even though we don’t do them.” So the restaurant is having people order and pay for food online and just not making it? Shortly after, we asked the same host about the to go situation just to double check and she said “no we don’t do to gos she told me that you asked that and she also told me you said you had been waiting for 20 minutes and you haven’t.” Just rude right off the bat. From the time we sat down to the time our server approached us it had been exactly 22 minutes. We told her that our customer service experience had been horrible and that we would be leaving a review. Which she replied to with “you’re really going to leave a bad review with all this ‘shit’ going on?” Needless to say, we never ordered food and will never be returning. But hey, on the bright side, the food on other people’s table looked great! So if you are willing to look past the belittling, neglect, and cursing from the staff you may enjoy...

I was going to give this place a rating of two stars until I paid the bill. In roughly chronological order, here was our experience...

Entering the Café, you see visual chaos of mis-matched tables and chairs. The walls are covered with random eclectic bric-a-brac.

They have a live musician (at 10:00am ???) playing 60's folk music... badly and too loudly. My wife and I had difficulties in conversing over the cacophony of the music and the other diners shouting to hear each other.

My chair was about to collapse, so I switch it with a different one.

The food: took way too long from the time we ordered. The "biscuits" were a sort of salty cake. The bacon was burned. The sausage was two round 1/8" thick overcooked patties. The eggs were inconsistent and cold. The home fries and grits were unremarkable. The coffee was OK, but we had to pointedly ask for more.

So, as I said, based upon the above, I would have given them two stars.

I then paid the check and then noticed that they had overcharged for something. Their menu has a basic breakfast, which you then add extras to. On the menu, it said that bacon, sausage, and ham were $3.50. But they charged my wife and I $4.50 each.

So, I pointed it out to the cashier and told her I had already paid and wasn't going to ask for a refund, but that she should be aware of the error.

The woman then told me that that was what they charged, but the menus hadn't been changed yet. I already knew that I was never coming back, and I had no wish to fight or make a scene over two dollars. But, I also don't appreciate being treated like a fool. So, I just said that that was not right and that it was bad business and walked away.

She then followed me, trying to explain how I was wrong. We left as quickly as...

I can acknowledge the earnest efforts of the staff, from the hostess, to the waitress, to the bussers. They may have been understaffed or maybe not properly staffed; i am unsure. I was immediately acknowledged by the hostess who was also bussing tables. They sat me at the bar since i was by myself and since the groups waiting before me did not want a bar seat. It took a long while before the waitress acknowledged me. She was very sweet and seemed to be doing her best. Then it took about an hour to get my bowl of broccoli cheddar soup with garlic bread and a cinnamon roll. I had to ask about my order as i saw several other people get orders which weee far more complicated. The soup was hot, however it seemed that it was not mixed properly with enough water out of a can: it was quite salty. Then when the waitress came with the order, she said there was no garlic bread due to a very busy weekend. i was charged for the meal in full without the garlic bread and given a few saltine crackers instead. I also observed some customers who came inside saying they had been waiting outside a long time when lunch rush had died down and there were several empty tables , so it wasn’t just me that was experiencing this.

i hate leaving this review as i’ve worked in the restaurant industry myself, but i wanted to be honest about my opinion and hopefully it will help the business owners improve or maybe address these types of situations ahead of time : maybe put a sign in the front for customers to understand longer wait times due to staffing or a busy weekend and unavailability of...
