First visit and last visit today. My husband and I were visiting Ellijay today, which is a Monday. We went in to get a coffee and left without one. I ordered a double espresso with whip cream. I always drink my espressos with milk or half and half creamer everywhere I order it and at home. They give me my drink in a tiny mouthwash size cup filled to the top with no room for creamer. I ask the lady behind the counter if they had a cup a little larger that I could have so I could add creamer to it. I was told no while I was staring at their many stacks of cups. The barista went to the lady at the register to ask and that’s when she came over to sternly tell me NO and that if I wanted a different cup I’d have to buy another drink. I would have paid a little extra for another cup but I’m not buying a completely new drink just so I can get a bigger cup for my original drink. I don’t drink plain coffee or plain espresso so I just slid my tiny cup back to the lady and just walked out. Had I known that would be the cup I would get I surely wouldn’t have ordered it. They were rude and didn’t care if I enjoyed my drink or not, terrible customer service. They didn’t care to help and acted like I was asking for them to cut off their right arm or something. I just left my drink on the counter and walked out because it wasn’t going to ruin my day in Ellijay. I will never be back and I will definitely not recommend anyone to this coffee place. I wish I had read the reviews about the rude workers before I wasted...
Read moreI come to Ellijay a few times a year with my family. This place was highly recommended by friends and locals, so I finally decided to try it a couple weeks ago. We went on a Monday hoping it wouldn’t be too busy. I was literally excited to try it out, got inside, and the interior was so cute. But that’s the nicest thing I can say about it. The girl behind the counter was rude, seemed like she was annoyed we were interrupting her talking with the girl that made our drinks, as well as irritated with our questions about the drinks. She was so loud shouting out our names for our pastries, it actually startled me, it didn’t feel welcoming at all. So much for southern hospitality. The one making the drinks looked annoyed, we felt rushed. It was very unprofessional, like the note by a tip jar I happened to see at the register, asking for tips. The drinks weren’t mixed very well, iced ones were too watery, the pastries were stale. I do recommend the Ultimate Hot Chocolate! I went on the premise I would receive friendly customer service, great drinks and pastries like all my friends and family had told me. I did hear the cashier asking for reviews for something going on at the shop and that’s the only reason I am finally doing one. Not a great experience and I would...
Read moreLet's start with the good. The coffee was very good and the Cherry Danish was certainly about the best Danish I've ever had with lots of cherries and cheese.
The bad. They're "more of a takeaway coffee shop" than a coffee house, you know, where one would actually like to hang out, relax, drink coffee, eat a pastry, maybe converse with friends, OR even work on their laptop like most every cafe is known for around the world. They do not have Wi-Fi. And they made it very clearly known they close AT FIVE so to be sure to have all my stuff gathered and out the door before 5. When i worked in customer service in a pizza shop, we took orders until close. They had already put away most of the pastries by 430 when i walked in.
I was hoping for a relaxing place to sip coffee and get some work done. Instead i found a place working hard to push me...
