22 Jun 2025 It appears that Google doesn’t let you enter multiple reviews for the same business however I think it was important enough to give the Ellsworth Hannaford another shout out so I am updating my post from last summer. This morning as I was shopping for the Schoodic Food Pantry, I had another unique assistance request in breaking up some packages of chicken into smaller portions so that we could assist more families at the Schoodic Food Pantry. Even though it was a fairly busy Sunday morning, Chris and Jessalyn couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. I have never had a bad visit to the store and it is mornings like this make it a pleasure to shop there. Thanks to all who work there.
Jun 2024 had a great shopping experience at the Ellsworth Hannaford today. I needed a special cut done for some pork roasts. Even though they were on sale at a bargain price, Chris and Theresa in the butcher shop carved up two large roasts into 4 more manageable sizes for me with no questions asked. They were pleasant and friendly and even though doing other things, they took care of my request quickly and efficiently. Ketarina on the register was pleasant, friendly and very helpful. Ginger was my bagger and was as nice and competent as can be. It is always a pleasure to shop at Hannaford and today was specifically an even better day. Thank you to all involved in keeping together a well stocked store. Growing and butchering my own food would be a royal pain and I really appreciate that I do...
Read moreWent in with my kids to get a few groceries and maybe a quick snack or lunch for there hot bar is usually delicious! That we do a few times a month. We go sit in there little sit in cafe spot after we buy, to enjoy! But we couldn't do, today, or last week enjoy are food, do to these people with cart full of there belongings, I could only assume homeless, taking up all the tables and space, with there carts, sleeping, and trash over flowing, with tables being gross. Even taking my youngest to bathroom, and one was in there with there cart, Cleaning them selfs and brushing teeth in bathroom. I also feel like there eating things without paying, and getting other customers to feel bad and buying stuff for them, for how they was talking to each other.. No one should go hungry or cold, but I can say a grocery store is not a shelter, nor should make paying costumers feel uncomfortable . I would hate to see that little sit in go for my kids and I love it a few times a month, but I also feel like they should! For it hasn't been possible, nor enjoyable anymore. I really hope they figure...
Read moreI can't say enough about Hannaford in Ellsworth. As an out-of-towner, I always look forward to seeing what the local supermarket chain has to offer.
I was tasked with the duty of grocery shopping during our stay for the week. This supermarket chain is similar to and is most likely a sister-store to my local Stop & Shop in NY, as I noticed they carry the Nature's Promise brand.
Where this store excels is their customer service. I was always greeted with a friendly smile, even though I would come in close to closing. Something that's rare here in NY. I did not feel rushed at all during my shopping which occurred every night for the week. The staff was very helpful and gave me directions when I felt lost in the store. The cashier even made small talk during check-out.
I was able to find everything that I needed without a problem. The store was always well-stocked during my visit.
Big kudos to the Bakery Department because every loaf of bread that I purchased (about 5-6) were soft and delicious.
I highly recommend this supermarket if you're in the area. I will surely...
