T.J. Maxx — Local services in Ellsworth

I've visited here a few times while on vacation; this time I visited because I'm moving to the area and wanted to see how they compare to the Bangor TJMaxx. Overall a good experience; the store was clean, well-stocked, and the service was nice. I bought a pair of shorts and paid a decent price. The night before I'd been to the Bangor TJM and picked up a couple men's flannel plaid shirts for $16.99 - the same shirts and patterns at this store were $39.99. My wife thought it might be because this store is more on the direct route to Bar harbor so the clientele might be a bit higher-end. Not sure if that's the case, but it will make me pay attention to the prices more. I also noticed that their were no sports (Red Sox, Patriots, etc.) stuff here while in Bangor there was a whole section devoted to it. I might have caught it between seasons as I know when I've come here before they've carried these things. All in all I'd say it was a good experience - I might pay the higher price if convenience is a factor but if I've got the time I may put off my purchase until I can get to the...

Ellsworth Maine store- Disappointed in two ladies trying to tag team to get my older sister to get a credit card at check out. Even after I said firmly “no thank you”, sternly they had the nerve to say it’s only three questions. They led her to believe it was a discount card. Even told her she could come back tomorrow. They would not let up. I was appalled what these two ladies did to get a bonus. I told my sister we needed to leave and they gave her an application. I of course tore it up when we got home. Really love this store....Was so excited when they came to Ellsworth, ME......TJ Maxx almost always has something I just have to have!!!! Lol! Seriously, it is a great place to pick up things that you need, especially for the home. Great brands..... great prices on most everything.....!The employees are super friendly and the variety is wonderful.....! My only complaint is that in the clothing Dept they usually are sold out on my size by the time I am able to get there!!!! Great place...
