Cilantro Indian Bistro & Bar — Restaurant in Ellsworth

My husband and I are visiting from San Diego and happened to drive by Cilantro in Ellsworth. We saw the sign and decided to give it a try, and we are so glad we did. Ricky was our server and he was very patient and helpful. The food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. We are used to having a lot of great Indian restaurants back home, but this one truly stands out and easily beats many of our favorites in San Diego.

We ordered the butter sauce chicken and the eggplant dish called baingan bhartha. Both were perfectly seasoned and full of rich, balanced flavor. The textures were just right and every bite was delicious.

For dessert we tried the Falooda ice cream. It was smooth, creamy, not too sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal.

My wife and I have tried most of the Indian restaurants in the state and have had many in other states such as high quality in NY and Cilantro in Ellsworth met our prayers for an excellent Indian restaurant to finally arrive in the greater Ellsworth area! We will be back a lot and highly recommend to anyone that knows good Indian cuisine or is curious to try the real deal! You can indicate different spice levels and we appreciate all of the vegan and gluten free options. I recently had dinner at this restaurant and honestly, it was such a good experience. I tried the shrimp curry with naan and the lamb chop, along with a stone fruit lemonade — and everything tasted amazing. The shrimp curry had just the right amount of spice, the naan was super soft, and the lamb chop was cooked perfectly. The lemonade was refreshing and balanced the meal really well. I forgot to take picture of the drink tho it looked great.
