We like to shop local and have shopped Stewart’s regularly when we need appliances since moving to the area over 20 years ago. On a recent visit, we had very specific color matching and size needs for our refrigerator. Our salesman basically told us to go on their web site and search for the color and then call him with the model we wanted to see even though we were standing in the store ready to purchase. Isn’t that his job to do this for us? I took his advice, went home and searched for the brand and color we needed and found it at Home Appliance, another local store with locations in Avon and Brunswick. The salesperson at Home Appliance, Doug, did what a good salesperson should do. He searched the brand and color in his inventory and told me my choices. While the model wasn’t my first choice, we were stuck because we had to match the color of the rest of our 3-year old appliances, so we took what he guaranteed he had in his regional warehouse vs. having to order from the supplier and wait for production. It’s too bad that the salesman at Stewart’s didn’t provide the same level of service since it lost him a sale. Our transaction with Doug at home appliance was efficient and pleasant all done via phone and email. It seems we have found a new local appliance dealer who has earned our business.:)
UPDATE: in response to owner reply: you have missed the point of my review. This was not about a discontinued item. Your salesperson didn’t make any effort to even look at your inventory in the computer to see what choices you did have for us in stock. Translation: lazy. Please have your sales...
Read moreIf I could I’d give a negative star rating. I recently moved and bought all new appliances from Stewart’s. This included a French door fridge, wall oven, dishwasher, built in microwave, 36” gas top electric oven range and front loading washer and dryer. I chose to support a local business instead of a big box store. I have had one issue after another. Installer didn’t have the kick plate for the dishwasher and said he couldn’t install my wall oven or microwave because he didn’t have enough cord to reach the outlet. I had my contractor install them with no problem. My fridge came with a dent in the front door after 6 weeks they installed the new door. The installer dropped the door and dented the freezer. My 36” stove was very dented in on the side, because it slides in the damage was hidden but I essentially paid full price and got a scratch and dent item. The dryer came with the wrong cord and I had to go out and purchase a new cord at my expense. Now 6 months later my new fridge is leaking all over my brand new floor and I was initially told the soonest I could get service was 8/24. After throwing a fit they are coming Monday and are acting like they are doing me a favor! The kitchen appliances are all GE gallery series and the washer and dryer are GE as well. Every time I’ve. Had to call the service person was unapologetic and unwilling to make anything easier on the consumer. I will never do business with...
Read moreI purchased an LG washer and dryer set from Stewart's. From the start we had issues withe the dryer functioning. The first two technicians from Stewart's were very accommodating. They felt the vent may be clogged. I blew out the vent but the issue persisted. The second technician was completely useless. He stated it had to be a clogged vent due to hearing a whoosh when he removed the flexible pipe attached to the wall. How he could hear a whoosh is beyond me since the flexible mylar pipe had a large tear. He suggested I just run the dryer without the pipe connected. The only drawback being the room would become extremely hot. WHAT kind of service is that???? When I asked if he would check sensor on the dryer he said, "I'm not going to waste my time." Just to be certain there was not any type of lint build up I did have the entire vent cleaned from the wall connection inside to the outside pipe on the roof. There was NO buildup inside. At present the dryer seems to be functioning. However, I am in a quandary as to what to do if it no longer dries. Since Stewart's provides such poor service technicians I guess I will need to contact LG for a qualified tech to check the sensor and the overall health of the dryer. After this experience I would NOT recommend Stewart's Appliance...
