Brookshire's — Local services in Emory

Clean store and good customer service. However, this store only orders toxic versions of food and no alternatives to meats or drinks that do not have MSG or Nitrates. Their entire selection of breakfast meats have MSG and Nitrates minus the turkey sausage. (Let’s all be honest, no one eats it) so if you want a meal from here, you’re going to be shocked when you read the labels of what’s available. They’re unknowingly poisoning this community as they are the only grocery store and their selection of foods and drinks are all laced with toxic American ingredients. This store needs a big change in a bad way. Either they have no idea what they’re selling or they don’t care. I recommend driving to Sulphur Springs to use the Walmart (sadly) as they have sausage, bacon and juices not laced with nitrates, MSG or Carrageenan, mounds of Dextrose or high fructose corn syrup. I can barely manage my father’s diet (disabled) from this store without legitimately knowing I’m feeding him toxic foods. Praying whoever manages the food in this store wakes up and starts caring about what they’re feeding this community. I’m at the point of boycotting due to only having toxic food options aside from produce and ground beef. Call me crazy but we care about what is in our food. This...

Brookshire's pharmacy is THE BEST. They are 5-STAR. The number of prescriptions that they are able to fill with such a small area to work in is incredible. As busy as they are, Carl, Randy and Brie will always take the time to answer any questions. HOWEVER, the grocery store is a different story. The women that have been there for a while are AWESOME. The problem I have with the store is that they can never keep things stocked well enough and sometimes you can find something you like one time, and the next time it's not there. The worst part is the DELI. The fried chicken is never consistent and too often you will get legs or wings that have no meat on them or they are all dried out. And instead of tossing them, Brookshire's hides them in boxes or bags of chicken. I will never buy anything but cheese and lunch...

It's okay. Brookshires is about the same everywhere you go, basically just a more expensive Walmart with less stuff.

I will give brookshires credit though, their deli stuff and produce is usually better than other groceries, including Walmart.

I hate brookshires in particular though, because they force you to use their really really really bad self checkouts. I've had it stall my checkout multiple times. It has some sort of motion tracking, and if you don't put whatever you scan into the grocery bag in just the most perfect way... Boom. Your quick checkout is ruined.

And no, Brookshires. The answer to this problem is NOT to improve the self checkout technology. Just give me a damn cashier and quit being stingy. I'm already wasting all this money on your scam penny sales, the least I deserve is a...
