Use to like this place and frequently stopped there until I went one day to see about selling them a cell phone I no longer used and was told by the man who does the estimates for phones for customers that he wasn't interested because a prior phone I sold to them had been rooted (same as jailbreaking an iPhone but word used for Android Root System access) and he had to give a customer money back who had purchased it. I had sold a few phones to him over the past couple years and made conversation with him usually about phone technology since I'm very knowledgeable in this area and enjoy talking about this subject with people who are also have a more then average knowledge about phones as well. Anyways I remember talking to him about rooting devices and reasons for doing so in the past which is why he would assume I had done this to the phone that was being mentioned. He said he knew it was rooted because of an issue it was having with 1 specific carrier and what he said was the issue in no way, shape or form could have anything to do with somebody rooting the device, but the thing is I had never even done anything of the sort with that device and honestly it was practically brand new when I sold it to them because I had got it as part of a promotional bogo free offer and simply didn't even need the 2nd phone but it was free so I wasn't going to not take it. Only thing I had done with the device was make sure it turned on and was fully charged and working perfectly before taking it to Dees to sell mainly to avoid exactly what had occurred. The phone was in perfect working condition with zero issue either physically or with the internal software to the best of my knowledge, it was basically an open box only brand new device when I sold it to him which btw he did inspect the device, like he does with all devices, very thoroughly and had zero questions or complaints at the time of sell. If anything had been altered with that particular device it would have been either himself, another employee or perhaps the person he sold it to whom brought it back for a refund would be my best guess, but 100% definitely wasn't altered by me in anyway at all! This was surprising when he said he wouldn't be taking anymore devices from me since I had been a regular customer of the business and had sold multiple devices to them in the last with no problems ever and actually seemed to have very friendly, sometimes lengthy conversations with this individual, so to say the least I was a bit shocked learning this. I tried pleading my case to him and he didn't even want to hear me out and just walked away from me in mid sentence quite rudely! Had this not occurred I would have nothing but good things to say about this business as my prior couple years of visits were exceptional service to be completely honest! I just don't understand how a business could be with loosing a loyal customer such as myself who'd done quite a bit of business there over the previous couple of years over something that, really wasn't even the correct issue that he thought it was and even if it had been, there was absolutely no way he could blame me for 100% certainty of altering the device since it had been sold to another person and then returned for a refund before the supposed issue was even noticed! He only assumed I had done something to the phone because of my knowledge with these devices that we had discussed in the past, I am truly baffled still by that decision!!! So take it for what it's worth before doing business with Dees because as I previously stated prior to this particular incident I stopped there numerous times and was completely happy doing so over a couple of years, but the one issue I did have was what I consider a very serious issue so you can decide for yourself based off of this and knowing that everything I have stated here is exactly as it occured with no misrepresentation or any false...
Read moreI had a legitimate, but very difficult check to cash. For weeks, I had been refused by every banking institution, check cashing business and superstore. A teller at Key Bank took sympathy on me and suggested Dee's News Stand. Upon entering Dee's, I was impressed by the look, smell (they have an extensive cigar selection) and merchandise. During the several hours I spent there, I saw a diverse range of patrons who were all treated with an equal measure of respect and courtesy. The gentleman that helped me successfully cash my check, worked as sincerely as I did to verify the legitimacy of it. We each respectively waited on hold, searched for solutions and undertook the miserable task of navigating automated systems. No one anywhere would even entertain the project of helping me. But my check was successfully cashed at Dee's only because of the kindness of the staff. This is a business...
Read moreThey treat their customers with disrespect and are very VERY rude. I've given this business a ton of money over the years but today will be the last. An employee watched me sign a check I was cashing as the other employee finished with something else, about 10 feet from me. The other employee then comes over to wait on me and proceeds to tell me they can't cash the check because it was already signed. Like, what?? I literally signed it in front of the other employee, right there at the front counter.... I couldn't believe they really wouldn't cash it!! And the whole time the worker was so rude and ungrateful. It was some of the worst customer service I've ever endured. I will never go back there and I will steer everyone in...
