Stopped by this Escondido location tonight to make an exchange/return as the items I purchased online came in broken (ceramic figurines in horrible packaging). The manager on duty proceeded to let me know because these were purchased online, I could not return them in store and have to ship them back to their warehouse. As odd as I found this, I politely thanked him and walked away. As I walked out, I looked up their returns policy and literally the first paragraph outlines that any in store or online purchase can be returned to any if their store locations!! So I go back in and ask to speak to this young manager again, after 15 minutes of waiting for him, his employees tell me he’s outside throwing the trash. I then asked the sales rep in front of me if he knew if the items I wanted to exchange were in stock, he responds “ I don’t know, I just got here”. He completely ignores me and leaves me standing there, so I turn to a female employee next to him and ask her for assistance locating this item and she said “ if they’re not in the art aisle we don't have any” without even looking, without offering any type of assistance. I encountered 3 sales reps and each one had worse customer service than the prior. I shop at this store regularly, however this was my first time requesting assistance as I typically check myself out and my goodness it was below subpar. I will be contacting corporate tomorrow morning to get a clear answer on the returns/exchange policy and to make a formal complaint on their employees at...

The door to get inside is a pull door and it is a bit heavy. Inside, the floor is a smooth tile and very well lit lighting. They have shopping carts but no motorized carts.
Experience: as soon as I walked in I was greeted by the employee working behind the cash register; that was really nice. This store has a little of everything and that's the best way I could describe it. Everything is also five dollars or less which explains the name Five Below. They have candy, a technology section, books, back-to-school items, home design items, clothes, some workout items and more. When leaving the store the employee at the front counter said goodbye and to have a nice day which was nice! Very...
Read moreThis place was interesting. There were definitely some things that were a great deal at $5 or less... But then there were other things that were the same price if not cheaper at Target for example. It's like they just filled up half the store with things that seemed like they would be in the price range. Nothing is really a "great deal". It's more just like a collection of things around the same price point. Convenient for stocking stuffers, but that's about it. Even their candy...
