The Kebab Shop — Restaurant in Escondido

I used to have to drive 20 minutes to the nearest TKS and now they are in my town! Ugh I was so excited to come here!

As soon as we walked in the restaurant was so clean and inviting and all the pictures videos on the wall make you so excited to try everything!

We walked up to the kiosk to order which was so nice because there are so many options and it's much easier to pick them for yourself on the kiosk! We ordered a costumized bowl with Falafel, saffron rice and baby greens and the San Diego Wrap with carved lamb and beef. The bowl was so good and fresh with the cucumbers and their O.G. Yogurt sauce and Cilantro Jalapeño sauce that was self serve. The saffron rice was fresh and was definitely high in quality! The Falafel was so good! Fried to perfection and made the whole bowl feel so light and fresh! The San Diego Wrap was also amazing! The fries inside we good, there wasn't too much or too little which I enjoyed! And the cucumbers again just radiate such freshness in every bite!

We mixed the O.G Yogurt sauce and Jalapeño sauce and it was so good!

The servers were so kind when I asked for a to go lid for my bowl. And they never fail to say hello or good bye!

First time visiting, and by the service I got, I don’t know if I’ll return. I walked in around 4pm. Was greeted, and there was a small line. Not too bad. Everyone was being helped accordingly, but when the couple before me began to order(overheard it was their first time), the lady taking orders, yelled over the counter to tell me to order on the pad behind me if I was ready, which I was not. There was no one else behind me. I was looking up at the menu still, and she kept saying, “Hello, Sir! Sir! You can order behind you! Sir!” And I said I was looking up at the menu still. She ignored me. I started to order on the pad, and I was confused on the menu. I asked her a question when she was near me, and she seemed annoyed more than anything. She “helped” but she was more condescending than anything. I asked for clarity on a menu item since the pad said, “choose 1 option,” and there were 2 options pre-chosen. I figured it out and paid. The lady was jumping between back and front, I never saw her change her gloves. She was handling food and using the register with the same dirty gloves, no hair net, and a watch, which are all against state food safety policies. I’m really hoping this food is better than...

I enjoyed the food, but this is not a place to go to have a relaxing meal and converse with friends or family. The sterile, cold decor, which btw looks better in photos than in person, screams "Soulless corporation". The harsh acoustics make the room unpleasantly loud and uncomfortable even when barely half full. The crappy sound system makes decent music sound unpleasant. Everything seems designed to encourage you not to linger. The majority of customers were taking food to go, which I totally understand. But hey, it's not COVID times anymore, I want to go out and have a relaxing meal, and this isn't the place. Good food though, and I can't comment on the service since there isn't any...
