TL:DR - 30 minutes is not enough time to get food to go from this location. THE STAFF! DIRTY! Franchise owner Jordan Cievro (Also owns the location in SM) is no longer getting me as an individual or my company's business.
To the owner, Jordan Cievro, You really need to re evaluate your current employees and managers at this location. I understand you will very likely sweep this under the rug (which would be in line with this location, does anyone know how to sweep or does this store run in a "Not my problem" capacity?) like all franchise business owners do when they don't have the time to manage their multiple locations, but your current staff is DESTROYING this location. To top it off, the staff at this location are now the reason I won't be going to your other locations.
Mike Weeks (Owner of the Carmel Mountain location) seems to be the franchise owner who is now getting our business.
UPDATE: I've continued to give this location a chance (maybe it was the holidays causing it to get bad?) but unfortunately today will be the last time the owner of this location (And the one in San Marcos), Jordan Cievro, will be getting any money from me, my friends, or my clients whom I have used CFA catering service for an inexpensive lunch many times over the years. I'd rather pay the prices at Vintana's on a regular basis for my clients now...
My business is less than a mile away from this location (10 minute walk, 3 minute drive with lights) but I was still what would be considered late for most people returning from a 30 minute lunch. I was shocked how long this took to the point that I actually apologized to one of my employees when I said I didn't believe that a fast food place would take that long from a conversation last week. Even In-N-Out's drive thru is faster.
I sat in the drive thru for the better part of 10 minutes with no movement (I was already "Inside" of the drive thru area off of the asphalt, that was where I started and never moved from) so I just went inside where I had to stand for another couple minutes (no line) while the staff figured everything out (I counted 2 "White Shirts" standing by the drive thru window chatting and laughing with 2 more "Red Shirts" while another was handing food to the person at the window). I ordered and 2 more staff walked out front to do something behind the counter. At this point I counted 7 people total standing behind the counter talking to each other waiting for something and only 1 person doing any food prep and only 1 person taking orders. There was trash on the floors in the dining room and the tables near the trash cans all looked dirty (like yelling "don't touch that" to a 3 year old dirty). When I started to bring the trash up I got a sarcastic "be right on that..." combined with an eyeroll before I could finish about the table... Maybe it wasn't an eye roll, maybe they just had had really dry eyes and a sore neck at the exact same time?
Seriously? This is supposed to be a restaurant, maybe don't hire managers who hire sarcastic A-holes.
Why are there 7 people filling bags when there is only 1 person in the back prepping food?
On that note, Why are 2 people taking orders at the drive thru when you have 2 locations to order and your staff is not allowed [according to your shift manager, I know for a fact this was a boldfaced lie as I have had people walk up and take my order 3 cars out of the drive thru entrance] to walk to and take order from people before the permanent order boards so they end up standing around waiting for you to come to them.
This was all RIGHT BEFORE THE LUNCH RUSH WHEN THEY SHOULD BE 100% READY FOR THIS!

I usually recommend this location but the past few times I've gone the chicken has been dry or primarily dark meat...
If their standards get better at this franchise I'll give it another shot but for now just make the trip to San Marcos or Carmel Mountain if you really do want to eat at...
Read moreWhat a great experience as a first timer dining in the Lobby at this Escondido location. I’m not to sure what the company standard is but I will say that this location had to have executed it perfectly if not excelled.
The young man at the register was very pleasant, he had brown hair about 18 he had our order correct and brought our ice creams out at the perfect timing. I was impressed with his attention to detail and multitasking.
In the lobby, which I will add was immaculate.. there were zero dirty tables and the manager Lilly was going around touching tables and ensuring everyone was content and satisfied with their orders, and making sure every need was met. To go above and beyond. She also came around with a roll of stickers for the kiddos and was extremely personable. Just wait.. service gets better.. she then asked if she could clear the table, which of course was not something something I would expect nor have her do but it was the thought and the intent that counts.
For an establishment of this kind and as a fine dining server with lots of experience in this industry and whose first job was jack in the box I have to say I was blown away.. and the small acts of service and clean environment will surely be noticed and stand out from other typical dining experiences.
Lilly you are a pro and I hope big things are happening for you because HARD work does pay off.. you radiate integrity and for those who are unfamiliar it’s what every employer looks for in an employee.. It means to do the right thing when no one is looking. It’s cool to see a young woman care so deeply about her job and doesn’t need to say a word to show it.
The food of course was great.. but even if it sucked ide come just for...
Read moreThis morning I ordered breakfast online to do curbside pick up. I also ordered fries and a sand-which with NO PICKLES. The app did alert me that my food was going to take longer due to being breakfast time. I received a confirmation email before 10:30 am that my order had been processed. I arrived at 11am giving the restaurant plenty of time to work on my food since I have a baby in the car. At arrival the app was not working to enter a spot #. After no one would come out and I saw DT cars arriving & leaving before me I called the restaurant to let them know I had been waiting outside. A woman answered (Maya) & let me know she was going to bring my food out in 5 min. Which took longer. When I received my food it was incorrect my breakfast wasn’t in there & a sand-which was in there with pickles. I let her know & she told me I had ordered way past breakfast which was not true. I showed her the email which showed the time I ordered. While we were speaking she admitted to entering my food past the breakfast time & not when they had received it, therefore she wasn’t going to give me what I ordered. I let her know I could wait for my order to be remade correctly since I didn’t understand why I couldn’t just be given the food I had ordered & been charged for. I guess Maya who I was speaking with is the manager, follows by telling me she was going to refund my $. It’s not about the $, it’s about minimum customer service. I gave her the food that had the pickles back since I can’t have it or else my tongue swells up & I need to get a shot. She didn’t care whatsoever. Very disappointed. We’ve never experienced this type of service. Pls do better, with this type of behavior, customer service is not...
