Epic Burger — Restaurant in Evanston Township

I open the doors of 1622 Blank St. in Evanston Illinois. The smell of Greece flooded into my nostrils. I had just broken up with my five-day boyfriend and I was devastated looking for something to satisfy my cravings. I stepped right up to cash register my wallet was out and ready for action. I placed my order and got my dollar dollar bling bling Kachow money out💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸 then all of a sudden the man spoke up: "we do not accept cash" my life shattered before my eyes. All my childhood mowing the lawn's and doing chores getting my allowance would not be put up to use from this Break up burger session. I had to think fast quickly I got my Burberry wallet out of my Fjallraven kånken backpack and pull my Visa card out. My mom will be taking care of my dinner tonight I thought. I ordered my food. crisp fries we're not forgotten I would give a 10 out of 10 on those puppies. My friend who suffers from SEVERE LIFE THREATNING dairy and tree/peanut allergies was pleased with the food too. I think they tended to her needs properly and professionally. The food came slowly like snail. overall I thought it was a delicious meal. Are you epic Burger for making my epic break up burger a success. Everything was great until may 5th around 12:24 an African American homeless man walks into the building requesting to use the bathroom 🚽 the manager say you have to buy something to use the restroom and tells him he can’t use it. 5 minutes later a white woman walks in and the manager doesn’t tell her she has to buy anything but tells her it’s okay go ahead. I let the manager know that if it was someone else they would have thought she was racist. This was my first time in the business and to see that to be honest it doesn’t sit well in my spirit. I get that the homeless man maybe can cause a mess but the perception Of the whole situation doesn’t look right to me. Good Burger nice establishment but that could have been handled way better. Yea that’s not right and I don’t know if I can recommend anyone to this establishment based of that experience I hope In the near future that manager can get training on how to be diverse and handle people effectively and in a none racist manner. A Really good burger! Went for lunch with a big group and appreciate the communal seating. The server was very helpful and provided a tableside chart which made ordering for a group so much easier. We ordered by first picking a protein, then the type of bun and cheese, then whatever toppings and/or extras we wanted. I highly recommend the Turkey burger with the fried egg on top. Although we ordered various combinations of burgers, service was quick, hot and correct. The french fries were fresh cut but a little greasy and a bit soggy. I took a star off for this reason and because finding parking is a nightmare in downtown Evanston. The price was competitive for a made to order fresh burger and everyone in my group devoured their lunches with relish. Condiments were on the table, so no messy ketchup packets.
