I picked up a catering order from Habibi In for staff at the local nursing home where I work. The manager called me an hour before pick-up, confirmed our order, thanked us, and offered to provide plates, napkins, utensils, serving spoons, the whole nine yards. The level of customer service and positive interaction didn't stop there. When I arrived, I was greeted by cheerful staff who helped me load the catering order into my car and laid out a clear description of what was in each tray. They even offered to deliver more food later in the day if we ran out of anything for our night shift (...trust me, we didn't! SO MUCH FOOD!) Again, the level of gratitude and politeness they displayed was beyond. Our staff (55+ members across multiple departments) LOVED every last bit. It was unanimous! The spicy and regular rice, SEVEN salads, falafel, beef kofta kebab, chicken kebab, gyro, chicken shawarma, lamburkey, pita bread, tzatziki dip and hot sauce left everyone satisfied - so much so that staff is already asking when the next time we plan to order from Habibi In will be! Since the pandemic hit, our jobs and the lives of our residents have completely changed, and our management team has had to find creative ways to boost morale, especially during such stressful and isolated times. It hasn't been easy, but food always brings people together - and Habibi In was a staff FAVORITE! We appreciate the hard work that went into making this incredibly delicious meal and providing the highest level of customer service. I couldn't recommend this small biz more! We'll be ordering from Habibi In...
Read moreI’ve been hitting up Habibi In pretty regularly since they opened during the scamdemic, and I gotta say, it’s one of my go-to spots in Evanston now. The food’s been solid every single time, so I don’t have to think twice about it.
I always go for the Habibi Plate, it’s a good mix of everything. The grilled chicken and beef are always on point, tender, flavorful, and just the right amount of char. The hummus is smooth and creamy, and the pita they serve is always fresh and soft. It’s a solid combo that’s hard to mess up, and they do it right.
The lentil soup is another one I’m hooked on. It’s the kind of soup that’s not too heavy but still super comforting. It’s got a nice kick to it, with just enough spice to keep things interesting without burning your mouth. I’ve had it plenty of times, and it’s always hot and filling.
But the shish kabob? That’s where it’s at. Every time I order it, the meat comes out perfect—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. They don’t skimp on seasoning, so every bite is packed with taste. The rice on the side is simple but great—it’s fluffy and just the right base to go with the kabob.
I get food from Habibi often, especially when I'm in the mood for something satisfying but not heavy. The food’s consistent, and the vibe is chill, so I can just grab a meal and keep it moving. It's a solid choice that’s been a welcome addition to the neighborhood...
Read moreWe tried this restaurant for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint. The customer service was wonderful but the food was exceptional.
The chicken kabab platter was so flavorful. It came with two types of rice: Yellow cumin flavored which was delicious and a reddish rice which was mixed with their hot sauce. Warning: it's spicy! If you're not expecting or used to eating spicy let them know. I had to order extra yellow rice because it was too spicy for me. The platter also included a nice salad with crisp veggies but again there were jalapeños.
We also got the beef and chicken shawarma platters. Very delicious. Again you get the hot sauce on the side and I like how they have a disclaimer sign to eat it at your own discretion. But that said the white sauce is to die for! I've tried white from a lot of places but this is by far the best.
We did originally want to order the Habibti Burger but it's not offered as were some other items on the menu. The order taker was kind enough to explain they are getting a new menu so some things are no longer available. Sad because I was really looking forward to the burger. But don't let that stop you the food is absolutely worth it! Try the chicken kabab platter! Don't forget the...
