Food: 10/10 Service: 12/10* Cleanliness: 10/10
We got to the restaurant at 9:45pm, 45 minutes until their closing time.
Normally, this would be aggravating to the staff at most places, they'd be wanting to leave for the day but everyone at the restaurant was very friendly.
I ordered some food that wasn't 100% a menu item and they said they normally didn't do that but that he'd ask the chef to see what he could do.
I was ready to find something else to eat on the menu but before I even picked, the waiter came back and said they'd have no problem making my food special and they'd be happy to do it.
Service was friendly and the food didn't take long at all, we downed 2 bowls of the salsa while we waitied, so good.
Don't let the reviews saying it's too hot fool you.
This salsa was excellent, great taste, good heat and chip basket stayed full until I food showed shortly after.
Man, oh, man. Not only was my food better than I hoped or expected, I was blown away by how good it was.
I'm from Texas and Georgia and am used to incredible Mexican food. I haven't found a place in Washington comparable to restaurants back home, until now. I couldn't have made or asked for the food to have been any better for any of our meals.
Add the great food to great service, all at the ending of shift and I have nothing but great things to say about Tampico.
Other than, my gf used the restrooms and was astounded that place was so clean, top to bottom.
I'm so glad I found this place and will absolutely be back with family and friends.
Great food, great service,...
Read more7-31-2016 Lots of times people leave reviews only when they are displeased...we almost didn't go to this place because there were so many recent less than stellar reviews.......but on our way to buy inferior tacos at Taco Time....we drove buy and saw there were several cars there (Sunday), and it looks so cute from the outside we decided to stop. (1) THE PLACE IS NOT DIRTY. ITS FREAKING SPOTLESS. It is beautifully decorated, has lovely carved booths...beautiful exterior and interior. (2) We ordered the Nachos Deluxe. We were given the usual warm, crispy chips and two kinds of salsa while waiting for our dinner....the red salsa tasted just like any other restaurant salsa - and yes, it was too hot for me, but it did NOT TASTE LIKE CHILI POWDER AND BLACK PEPPER. The green salsa was great - chopped onion, tomatillo, lime, and chilis....and I used it liberally on my nachos when they came. The Nachos were delivered on a wonderfully hot plate, less than ten minutes after we arrived! The chips were toasted, the meat was wonderfully seasoned grilled and shredded beef....there were fresh tomatoes, fresh guacamole, and liberal sour cream on top of melted cheddar. These were some of the BEST NACHOS we have ever had! (3) THE WAIT STAFF WAS EXCELLENT AND VERY CARING TO OUR NEEDS.
The general price of the menu was $15 to $16 a plate, but the plates are HUGE and the food is beautifully prepared from what we could see of the platters going by us. We will be back SOON, and we can see that ordering one plate to share between two people is more than...
Read moreStopped in on a whim and have zero regrets. I was out for an M/C ride and going through Everett got a bit hungry and came upon this gem of an eatery. I stopped in to have a try. It's an unassuming building with unassuming and typical decor. Grabbed a seat and got the menu. Quickly served up chips and salsa. Chips were standard fare and fairly fresh. The salsa, a pico and a tomattillo, were delicious. The pico was freshly made with nice ripe tomatoes and just enough spice to get your attention, but not make it overwhelming. I'd ordered a horchata and was enjoying (and appreciating) that as I ate chips and salsa. The tomattillo was just as fresh and tasty. I perused the menu which had the standard dishes but also had some unique (to me) dishes. After contemplating some unusual items such as pork shanks, shrimp and crab burrito, and a couple others, i settled on one of my long-time favorites, chicken mole. If you are familiar, you know it can be difficult to find a good mole, let alone one that is truly memorable. And this was memorable. The chicken, tender and juicy, was swimming in a mole sauce that was so rich and velvety, he consistency was like that of sour cream with a perfectly melded combination of cocoa and dried peppers. If you are in the area, stop in...
