The only complete mexican store of the North Seattle area. Los Gavilanes features a Carniceria with the best carne asada in the entire Seattle area. Called ranchera, make sure you ask for it marinated, leave it in the fridge over night and grill it to taste. I promise you, you won't find anything quite like this anywhare else. Los Gavilanes also features a bakery where they have a wide veriety of freshly baked delicacies. Need a birthday cake, stop by and pick one up! Earlier in the day you can pick up fresh tamales from their wide selection of different flavors and even scalding hot champurrado. Run out of meal ideas? Pick up some chicharrones or carnitas for a new family night meal. Near the register pick up a fresh avocado or two, they're fantastic and at a good price. They even have freshly peeled tomatillos ready to be made into a nice fresh salsa. I can't think of anything they lack. If you need a little of Mexico, Los Gavilanes is the best so popular that their parking lot is always busy. I've been coming here for years and have seen them improving and growing the store to my delight. They take apple pay (I tap with my watch) and I'm addicted to the real Kinder Eggs, for my son...
Read moreThis is our go-to place when we plan on having a carne asada. They sell a cheese that is called queso crema and it's delicious. Their chorizo fresco is also great, and luckily, only one time out of many did the cheese have a weird taste to it that I couldn't even finish it. The carne asada meat is not the best unfortunately only because whoever is in charge of cutting it does not cut it thinner so when we eat it it's hard to chew and does not get the same taste a thinner sliced meat would. On Sundays, they have carnitas, which are very tasty most of the time. They have a variety of fresh veggies to make your own salsas. Good variety of drinks, snacks, self care items, and home goods. Their selection of sweet bread, unfortunately, is not the best compared to what the mexican stores where I used to live had to offer. They need more variety and to not be changing what they offer. I've gone a few times and can not say that they had the same variety every time. Customer Service is just not the same. The ladies in the back almost...
Read moreMy family and I went to this store today we realized upon entry that there weren’t any carts and only baskets. We proceeded to grab a lot of things in the store (totaling almost 200 dollars). We tried to put our things next to the cashier as we have often done before due to us not being able carry everything due to the baskets being very small. The cashier was very rude to my mom when she asked if we could put our stuff down she yelled at her and was very rude and said “no you have to come up with everything you want to buy or put everything in a basket on the floor.” We have never experienced that before and that has never been an issue. We suggest the owner or manager train the cashier to be more professional and accommodating to...
