Food was delivered by a delivery service and ordered by my daughter for me unknowingly. None of the birria was seasoned, flavored or had any juice whatsoever. The meat was all extremely greasy. There was only one order of consome that she had to order on the side. Every Mexican restraunt or store I have purchased food from has always been seasoned and the meat in juice. I was surprised you have to order consome when it should have come with it. To me, that seemed like ordering chicken teryaki and it not having teryaki sauce on the chicken or on the side. The only flavor that there was, was grease. It was disgusting. I have never been so disappointed in food from a restraunt in my life. I had high expectations once I was told she has ordered it for me because I wanted to try it. Big mistake. She ordered $60 worth of food and I only ate one taco. All the rest of the food went to waste, even the flour tortilla was all grease. The meat was way too greasy and unflavored. She ordered a carnita torta (which the roll was big, bigger than I thought it would be) and I love carnitas but I would never eat it here again or eat here again at all for that matter. The torta didn't have much layered in it at all. I believe the price point was $13-$16 and it is not worth it. There was meat, a tomato and some cheese. There was also a quesa birria plate that had beans and rice and a quesadilla with birria meat. The rice and beans were such small portions which isn't normal for most Mexican restraunts but they were bland anyway. The quesadilla was just overpowered by greasy tortilla and not much cheese. I'm not sure why they even called it a quesadilla. We also got an order of four tacos each approximately $3-$3.50 per taco and the toppings were all on the side in individual baggies but there wasn't enough for one bag per taco. It came with red/purple onions if you are used to having white or yellow. They did send plenty of salsa (3 green, 3 red and 3 avocado blend) and three small jalapeños (in total) that were grilled as garnish per order. Although they sent enough salsa, it was lack luster in taste. I'm not sure who they have making food but it doesn't seem like they taste any of it because there isn't even salt in the food. The birria quesadilla plate was $16.50. All in all, I'm never ordering food from here and if I could give them zero stars, I would. It was a complete waste of money and time because $60 for a plain taco was one expensive...
Read moreI’ve heard about this place for years. How it’s magical. I’ve seen friends Insta photos bragging about how they their grub on. When I saw they were on Grubhub I was excited because I could translate the parts of the menu I didn’t understand. I’ve been intimidated because I didn’t know how to order what my friends had.
For their menu on Grubhub, I’d like to ask 3 things. Add photos of the menu items like in your store. Add descriptions of the food (what’s in it), and if it comes with sides.
I ended up ordering for two of us 8 cheese tacos (that they are famous for) and 2 cups of consommé (required as per anyone who eats there). I also ordered the churros that my husband said was “insane” and “the shiz”.
Details: Buckle up, it’s gonna get greasy. Fat = flavor and this meal is so good you won’t regret it one bit.
Cheese tacos: don’t underestimate these. $4 gets you a mega taco full of oozy delicious Mexican cheese and a huge (at least 1/2 cup) of the tenderest shredded beef that a taco has ever seen. Double 5” tortillas hold all this goodness inside without a single rip from the corn tortillas from being being gently fried. Slightly crisp, perfectly chewy, and nothing fell out of them. It includes chopped red onions tossed in cilantro and limes on the side in a bag. Also, 3 hot sauces. The smallest green one is lava. You’ve been warned. Garnished with grilled jalapeños. I took a tiny nibble off the tip and cried for a good 2 minutes. I’ve turned into a wimp in my 40’s apparently. We ate 5 of the 8 tacos.
The consommé (Consome on the menu in Spanish) is a gorgeous velvety smooth sauce. It is a beefy stock soup with other add ins that I’m sure is top secret. It is $4 and 8oz and has 0 heat. Great for kids. They even have it with ramen noodles! Do not forget to order this with your tacos or you’ll be sad bears. (Pssst…there’s even some beef on the bottom!)
Churros were hot and drizzled in chocolate. They sat like a crown atop vanilla ice cream. Topped with whipped. Eat dessert first!
We can’t wait to order again! And check out...
Read moreMy first time trying birria was at this Birrieria and it was pretty good overall! My friends and I came here in search of good tacos north of Seattle. There was TONS and heaps of meat in each taco and stuffed me even though I came in starving. I do wish there was a little more vegetables accompanying the tacos, but I was fine not having it either because I could dip my birria taco in the consume. Consume was great.
Food My friends and I were a party of 3 and got the birria plate. It comes with 10 tacos (5 regular, 5 cheese), fries, 2 consume, and a churro ice cream dessert to finish it off. We were stuffed and couldn’t finish it. The tacos are packed with meat and I loved the cheese tacos. The consume was nice too dip the tacos in so you must get it! Came with 3 types of salsa and onions for your tacos. The fries were alright, best part was there was more birria on top. The churros came out separately at the end because it sits on top of some ice cream so it was a sweet finish.
Atmosphere The decorations are very colorful and has lots of lights inside to brighten up the space and make it fun. Noise level was not too loud for a Tuesday night. Nice and casual spot to grab tacos and birria!
Pricing Prices are a great deal for the amount of food that you get. One taco is $4, but it’s 2-3 times bigger than what you might get at like Taco Bell and the meat is legit. I definitely felt like I got my bang for my buck.
Service Service was good and the staff was very nice. English and Spanish was both fine for us. Food came out promptly and the staff brought the churros out at a great time.
