I spent 2 months working with the studio to complete work for an art installation in Bellingham, WA. At the time, all the local studios were full and unable to accommodate a pressed production timeline but Rachel at Salish Sea Ceramic Studio was available and excited to help! I had a plan for my project, but at any point that I questioned the plan, needed extra help, or just needed to bounce ideas around, Rachel was encouraging and gave well rounded advice. The physical studio space is in a great location, comfortable, and well stocked with tools, clays, glazes, underglazes, etc. brining your own sand paper and paint brushes for detail work is important though. Since I live in Seattle I haven’t been able to take a series class, I got to take my first workshop last night. It was awesome! I’ve taken improv, yoga, pole dancing, swimming and other classes in Seattle since COVID. Rachel’s class was top level in terms of structure, autonomy and content! Not only is she an amazing artist and fantastic teacher, but she has the best studio space I've ever been in (and I've practiced ceramics in many spaces all over Seattle).
