Bayside Cafe is one of my absolute favorites! Not only are the owners and staff so kind and caring, the food quality, menu specials, and comfort food is always on point! I've taken many non-vegan friends here and they always have a positive experience. I also had my wedding dress rehearsal here over the summer and it was fabulous! We got to reserve the entire lounge area to ourselves and we coordinated with Jasper to have special appetizers for our group, along with a 3 menu options we selected for our guests to choose from. They were so wonderful to work with, giving us a tasting beforehand and offering menu specials from the past that aren't on their regular menu! All of our guests (all non-vegan except me) loved the food and had nothing but amazing things to say! From the mac salad to fried mushrooms to the burger options, everything was an absolute hit! We even got our own bartender for our group who was very attentive and got everyone's needs met. Having the lounge space to ourselves struck the balance of an intimate setting with our closest friends and family, but also offered plenty of space for people to spread out and mingle. Most other places just offer one small banquet room with a large table, so you can't really mingle or talk to everyone, which is one of the reasons we opted for Bayside for this occasion. I highly recommend Bayside, and definitely consider hosting an event there. They are so great to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to have another event there in the future!

I was grateful to sit down at a restaurant where I could order anything off the menu and not worry at all about animal products. That part was amazing. We got the nachos, deep fried pickles, a classic burger, a chicken sandwich/burger(?) and some beer. The burger patty was a fair size and texture but didn’t have much flavor besides tasting like burnt grill. It does not come with pickles so I threw some fried pickles in it which helped give it more flavor. But the fried pickles were so salty you really can only eat a few. The nachos would have been better had the ratio been better. Lots of chips and only a small layer of topping that once you eat a few chips each it’s just chips left and they are not very good tortilla chips. The chicken burger wasn’t bad but it was just okay. It was on a pretzel bun which sounds good in theory but the flavors didn’t marry well. Same with the burger, it also came with a pretzel bun which I felt like they both taste ok separately but didn’t like them together. The fries were perfect. I wish I could give a better review because we don’t have many vegan restaurants close by. And I love the idea of this place and the waitstaff was friendly, Plus I’ve seen so many raving reviews. But nothing we ate would be worth the short trip back there. It was all less than mediocre. I’d probably compare the food to Dennys if they were vegan. But I kinda remember the food at Dennys being better. The ambiance was pretty cool, as it is located inside an old Chinese restaurant (in which I’ve eaten at before) and there is a parking lot so that was nice. There is only booth seating and they are an extremely tight squeeze for a pregnant person or anyone with a belly. Was a bit uncomfortable. Also if someone is seated in the booth behind you every move they make wiggles your seat as well which is why we moved to another booth. I hope bayside continues to get business and that they do very well. And if their menu gets better I would absolutely come back and squeeze myself into booth.

Full disclosure: I am not vegan, this is an omnivore's perspective. I got the Western burger with curly fries (pictured) and beer battered mushrooms (not pictured). The fries were PERFECT, with a bit of crisp but not a crunch and a light but flavorful layer of seasoning. I wasn't expecting the burger patty to taste anything like beef, and it didn't really taste like beef, but it still had a savory meaty flavor with a nice texture. The fake cheese was gooier than real cheddar but tasted very much like the real thing. And their dips... Do definitely get the sriracha aioli. It's AMAZING. Finally, the mushrooms... They arrived piping hot and also with the perfect amount of crisp. It came with vegan ranch dip but I used the sriracha aioli because I was addicted. Also, if the picture looks like it's a somewhat small amount of food, the size is deceptive. I'm a very big eater and I got very full. Vegan food is dang filling! The service was great, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, despite the place being moderately busy when my brother and I came in. My only "gripe" with the service was that they initially misplaced my order of mushrooms, but they quickly rectified it and even took the mushrooms off the bill. We will definitely be returning!

Gotta pay closer attention before I pick a place to eat at next. Didn’t realize it was vegan until we sat down and got the menus. Figured we would give it a try anyways. Pics looked good online and it was 4.8 stars. How bad could it be? Love the vibe. My kiddos loved the decor and music but that’s about all we liked really. Fried pickles and French fries were good. But the worst thing I think I’ve ever ate in my life was the “feta” “burger”. Took one bite and had to force myself to swallow before I puked. Husband laughed at me until he tried it too. Same feelings. Husband tofu yakisoba wasn’t the worst thing but also not very appetizing. Kiddo got the “chicken” sandwich and had one bite before not touching it again. We just ate fries and called it good. Pretty expensive mistake on my part. Really wanted to like it as I think vegan diets are healthier? But if this is what yall eat, I applaud you for sticking it out. So highly rated and this is what the hype is? Stay strong vegans. Fingers crossed food gets better for yall as time goes on. My family and I can’t. Again, loved the vibe and cocktails sounded nice but wasn’t a fan of the food. Sorry

We had the Bacon Burger and Yo Egg Burger (both with Beyond) with crinkle fries. My husband said his bacon burger was delicious. My egg burger was fantastic. When I saw it on the menu I had to have it because 30 years ago before I was vegan I always used to get a burger with a fried egg on my way to the Hamptons. The faux egg was amazing. The yolk was runny and I could dip my fries in it. Speaking of fries, they were nice and salty, but we would've liked them a bit hotter. Might go for curly fries next time; another table ordered them and they looked pretty good, not too skinny. The beer on tap happened to be from Sound to Summit (they have rotating drafts). I loved the Coastal Cruiser Hazy IPA and my hubby enjoyed his Krolsch. We stood around like dummies for a few minutes before noticing the "ring bell" sign. Service was very friendly. The space is odd with its old Chinese restaurant decor, but had booth seating and a separate bar area. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the Seattle area.

I love this place!! My partner and I have been frequenting their old location pretty regularly, and now they're in an old Chinese place that can accommodate so many more humans!! (and much more safely, with social distance) The food is always wonderful, I would definitely recommend the Everett dog to anyone ever, but this morning we went for BRUNCH! They serve mimosas as well (I had the lemon blueberry one) and let me just say the Tatchos were not only wonderful and ingenious, but incredibly filling!! Neither my partner or I could finish our plate (a rare occasion) but we both left incredibly satisfied. I'm so excited to see what's to come for you all!! Thank you for making delicious vegan comfort food just down the road! The staff is all incredibly friendly and down to earth, and the art and things everywhere are exciting to see and it feels like there's always something new to look at. Sorry for the rambly review, these guys rock my socks. Xoxo
