All vegan, pretty classic diner grub menu - tons of burger options with easy customization, and multiple patty options!! They do a great job with their standard option, the Beyond beef patty - it is griddled properly, with good char marks, and properly seasoned!! Bun is good, fresh and soft, griddled to a nice color (toasted on the flat top), as it should be! I added Bleu cheese to the Bacon Burger which was really tasty - they make it nice and gooey-melty, and it has the proper Bleu chz funk, so delicious. Yes that means I had a burger with double cheese, and the Chai slice was ALSO properly melted! Overall a killer vegan burger that I would absolutely get again, and recommend. Now, I offer some picky criticism for the benefit of the awesome staff and owners (whom I had the privilege and fortune to meet in person, because of course they were both there working on a Friday night), in hopes they continue to enjoy great success - the grilled onions on the burger could have used another minute on the grill, to soften a bit more and develop a little more caramelized color and sweetness, but they were tasty nonetheless; the guacamole was a great component of my burger, but it was a bit more oxidized than would be preferred, so appearance and flavor were 80% of what it could be, but it was seasoned and the amount was well-proportioned for the bun and patty; the bacon was crispy on most edges, but a bit undercooked overall (this is a vegan bacon that I am pretty familiar with, and in fairness, it really takes some time, attention, and oil, to actually crisp the way I prefer, without burning slightly and/or drying out). The fries were good, thicker cut, with skin on, as I prefer, and fried well! I got the salt and pepper flavor option available that evening, and it was good but not great - mainly I expected more black pepper, but they tasted good regardless, and texture was crisp outer with fluff 'tater interior, delicious! Get the fried pickles and a cold beer - they are salty and delicious, the breading is crisp, and they are sliced in both chips and 'stacker' style slices, which for me gets the proportion of crispy batter to salty tangy cucumber just right! And, served with ranch dip, proper! Building exterior doesn't do it justice - the interior is cool and fun, a lot of custom art on the walls, much of it animal-themed (it is a vegan joint!), a great reinterpretation of the previous restaurant decor. Pink and black are my colors, so I was stoked 🤩🔥. Also - cheap, fun pinball (2 machines in the bar), a full bar(!), and super rad folks working there, both...

I was grateful to sit down at a restaurant where I could order anything off the menu and not worry at all about animal products. That part was amazing. We got the nachos, deep fried pickles, a classic burger, a chicken sandwich/burger(?) and some beer. The burger patty was a fair size and texture but didn’t have much flavor besides tasting like burnt grill. It does not come with pickles so I threw some fried pickles in it which helped give it more flavor. But the fried pickles were so salty you really can only eat a few. The nachos would have been better had the ratio been better. Lots of chips and only a small layer of topping that once you eat a few chips each it’s just chips left and they are not very good tortilla chips.

The chicken burger wasn’t bad but it was just okay. It was on a pretzel bun which sounds good in theory but the flavors didn’t marry well. Same with the burger, it also came with a pretzel bun which I felt like they both taste ok separately but didn’t like them together. The fries were perfect.

I wish I could give a better review because we don’t have many vegan restaurants close by. And I love the idea of this place and the waitstaff was friendly, Plus I’ve seen so many raving reviews. But nothing we ate would be worth the short trip back there. It was all less than mediocre. I’d probably compare the food to Dennys if they were vegan. But I kinda remember the food at Dennys being better.

The ambiance was pretty cool, as it is located inside an old Chinese restaurant (in which I’ve eaten at before) and there is a parking lot so that was nice. There is only booth seating and they are an extremely tight squeeze for a pregnant person or anyone with a belly. Was a bit uncomfortable. Also if someone is seated in the booth behind you every move they make wiggles your seat as well which is why we moved to another booth.

I hope bayside continues to get business and that they do very well. And if their menu gets better I would absolutely come back and squeeze...

This was the 2nd time I had visited this place. The 1st time, i ordered a beyond burger. Great taste, love the crispy fries. The atmosphere was ok, the service was ok. I went on a lunch break, and I was served relatively quick. That's why I went back. I took a date there because she has food allergies and she has a difficult time eating out. I thought that this restaurant would be the answer to my prayers! When we walked in, no joke, we waited 5 minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant. There were only 2 groups of people eating. They had a doorbell that you could ring to announce your present. I rang the doorbell 3 times. I was getting ready to leave (I looked at my watch, and we were standing in the lobby for 5 minutes) when the server came by and told us to sit anywhere we like. So, we picked a table, and the server asked if we wanted another drink. We asked for water, and he bought that and 2 menus. That's the last we saw him...15 minutes later, he comes out and starts to have a conversation with a couple of females at one of the booths. My date was furious. She wanted to leave then, but I stated that he would come over to take our order shortly. We'll, 5 minutes after I said that, he was still talking with the ladies in the booth. So, we got up and left. We walked past the server as he was talking to the ladies at the booth, and he said nothing. No apologies, I will come take your order now. No, nothing!! I really should have asked to speak to the manager but my date was too through with Bayside. Which is a shame because we had been looking for a good place to eat that served a variety of good tasting dairy free food. I was shocked because of the 180 turn that the restaurant took from...

Bayside Cafe is one of my absolute favorites! Not only are the owners and staff so kind and caring, the food quality, menu specials, and comfort food is always on point! I've taken many non-vegan friends here and they always have a positive experience. I also had my wedding dress rehearsal here over the summer and it was fabulous! We got to reserve the entire lounge area to ourselves and we coordinated with Jasper to have special appetizers for our group, along with a 3 menu options we selected for our guests to choose from. They were so wonderful to work with, giving us a tasting beforehand and offering menu specials from the past that aren't on their regular menu! All of our guests (all non-vegan except me) loved the food and had nothing but amazing things to say! From the mac salad to fried mushrooms to the burger options, everything was an absolute hit! We even got our own bartender for our group who was very attentive and got everyone's needs met. Having the lounge space to ourselves struck the balance of an intimate setting with our closest friends and family, but also offered plenty of space for people to spread out and mingle. Most other places just offer one small banquet room with a large table, so you can't really mingle or talk to everyone, which is one of the reasons we opted for Bayside for this occasion. I highly recommend Bayside, and definitely consider hosting an event there. They are so great to work with and I wouldn't hesitate to have another event there in the future!

Full disclosure: I am not vegan, this is an omnivore's perspective. I got the Western burger with curly fries (pictured) and beer battered mushrooms (not pictured). The fries were PERFECT, with a bit of crisp but not a crunch and a light but flavorful layer of seasoning. I wasn't expecting the burger patty to taste anything like beef, and it didn't really taste like beef, but it still had a savory meaty flavor with a nice texture. The fake cheese was gooier than real cheddar but tasted very much like the real thing. And their dips... Do definitely get the sriracha aioli. It's AMAZING. Finally, the mushrooms... They arrived piping hot and also with the perfect amount of crisp. It came with vegan ranch dip but I used the sriracha aioli because I was addicted. Also, if the picture looks like it's a somewhat small amount of food, the size is deceptive. I'm a very big eater and I got very full. Vegan food is dang filling! The service was great, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, despite the place being moderately busy when my brother and I came in. My only "gripe" with the service was that they initially misplaced my order of mushrooms, but they quickly rectified it and even took the mushrooms off the bill. We will definitely be returning!
