Response to owner: The response below this review is a complete and total fabrication. My ring has NO diamonds, not a single one. It is old but it is in barely worn condition and not a single stone is worn or loose. The ring looks new except for small scratches. Also, I did not talk to a younger woman who talked to her father. The woman I talked to was 60âs+ and never once consulted anyone else or left the counter. She remained at the counter for the whole interaction. Unfortunately the reply makes my experience even more concerning. I got this ring from another smaller jeweler and it has never been worn by me. He completely cleaned and polished it so there is no way it looks as if it has been âlovingly worn over many yearsâ. Unfortunately that reply is all a blatant fabrication.
Original: Unfortunately I didnât have a great first experience and I will not be going back. I had gotten a price to get a ring resized at the place a few spaces down first and he was great. I wonât say other names here though. I was quoted $78 to have a solid gold ring sized up a full size. I went here (to Exeter jewelers) right after (walked over immediately after) to get another price. I was told $395 for the same ring! Because apparently it would need to be totally redone while the smaller business a few doors down said it would be easy! Iâve gotten other rings resized at other places and it was never over $100. I donât know if they saw a young girl and thought I could be easily scammed but Iâm very disappointed. I collect estate jewelry so I do have experience with getting work done on it. I would...
Read moreWhen I first went to Exeter Jewelers I had no idea that this place would become my favorite place and MY forever jeweler. I originally went here to upgrade my wedding band, and after my first visit I was hooked. Alia was beyond friendly and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted my band to look like. My diamond eternity wedding band came out stunning. It is truly breathtaking, they use such high quality diamonds and Mario made the ring-which truly makes it even more special. Itâs incredible the detail and skill that went into creating my wedding band and I am still in awe over it! I also just recently had my engagement ring upgraded (or more like completely replaced) by Exeter jewelers and OMG this ring is absolutely breathtaking and beyond stunning!!!!! I purchased the diamond stone from them-which I happened to see on their instagram page! They also worked with me on finding the perfect setting and band to have the diamond set on. I am truly so grateful for all the time and effort that was put into making this custom ring for me! I am completely blow away by this ring!!!! Thank you so much Exeter Jewelers!! Truly all the jewelry that they have here is beautiful, and made with great quality! I have bought quite a few things from them since my first initial visit and I will continue to buy everything here! I would suggest following them on Instagram because they post pictures of new items that they have and trust me...
Read moreAwful experience!! Never stepping foot in the place again.
I took a very expensive watch there for a simple battery replacement. They damaged the watch trying to get the back plate off, and never actually replaced the battery (or put in a dead one). I then took the watch to the dealership where I purchased it originally and they confirmed my suspicion.
When I went back to Exeter Jewelers to confront them about their ineptitude and possible deception. The owner, a very grumpy old man, spat out a mouthful about "How long they have been in business", "How perfect their reputation is", and how I was foolish for believing the word of the watch dealership as apposed to him.
I walked out quietly. No sense in arguing or causing a scene. But they have lost me as customer. And I'll be sure to tell everyone I know to avoid them at all cost.
Had the old geezer been honest and just said "Yeah, we really screwed up. I'm sorry. Let me fix it for you". I could still have some respect for him and his business. But that's not what went...
