Went here for my first pro ball purchase and got no help by the older man with white hair. His attitude was as if he hated his job. For reference I walked in with a ball I use that was given to me. I never bought a ball and had it drilled for my hands. Literally a blank interaction. He never asked anything about my game and was uninterested in hearing anything about it either. He told me the balls are the same and are only different by color. With 0 enthusiasm and 0 questions he put my fingers in the measuring ball. Then gave me price and time to come back. Since my purchase my game has suffered and my old ball that was not drilled specific to me fits my hand better than my new custom drilled ball. I knew when I left that the experience sucked but waited to see if the ball felt good. It doesn’t, trash. What seemed like should’ve been an enjoyable experience has turned into a negative one. I’ll be goin to else...
Read moreWe went to Metro Bowl for the 1st time yesterday. The owner Mickey is SO knowledgeable!! We originally went because my husband wanted to buy a new ball. Our son recently joined his high school bowling team. We ordered a ball online, had it drilled by the local pro shop in our local bowling alley. Mickey bowled professionally so he knows what he’s talking about. Through him we realized we had bought the wrong weight ball. My husband got his package that Metro offers (ball, bag & shoes) & we ended up getting my son the correct ball. Mickey did NOT try to sell us on getting a new ball for our son, the decision was completely on us. No pressure from Mickey. Both balls we purchased were drilled right then & there, Mickey made sure everything was perfect. We obviously went bowling that evening & Mickey was 1,000% right regarding my son’s ball!! We will not shop for bowling gear anywhere else! Thank...
Read moreIf you’re even thinking about getting into bowling, Metro Bowl Sales in Fair Lawn is the place to go. My boyfriend and I just made our first-ever bowling related purchase, and Mickey (the owner) was absolutely incredible from start to finish. He took the time to guide us through ball, shoe, and bag selection based on our individual styles and experience level, and we felt 100% confident in his recommendations.
This is a well run business with history—operating since the late 1950s, and Mickey himself has been with the shop for over 50 years. Not only is he deeply knowledgeable, but he’s also a former professional bowler who genuinely wants to help people enjoy the sport. We called ahead to have the ball drilled on-site once purchased, and everything was ready and taken care of within 30 minutes. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience—can’t wait...
