Ok, so let me first say this. I am not one to normally write a review. I went in to get a fresh water fishing license. I have not been fishing in about a year+ Due to a injury I had.
I went in and this is by far the easiest experience I have ever had! I am quite use to getting avg or below avg service. However, here is totally different. I was helped by a man named Bill. I think his lanyard said Head Coach. (So I assume a manager).
Not only was he polite and kind. He also helped me through every step of my experience. He not only got me my license quickly, he is very good at time management and multitasking. I mentioned I had a 4 Fishing rods in my car and he told me he would happily assist me. I told him they where in my car and asked if someone upstairs could help me with them. He said, "I will be more than happy to help you, but while you go get your fishing rods I will help with the line and meet you up stairs." I thanked him and said take your time.
Now, I just now observed multiple skills, great Management and customer service. Not only was he utilizing great time management. He was also providing a perfect customer experience.
So, I went out to my car and grabbed my poles... I came back and I see him helping multiple customers. Now when I say multiple.. I saw at least 5 people in front of him.
BUT WAIT, THERES MORE!!
As I pass him he catches me in the corner of his eye "While helping multiple people, and says " I will be right up with you."
I waddle to the escalator and go upstairs.. I'm not waiting for prob more than 5 mins and he comes rushing over..
(Keep in mind, I have not used my rods for over a year)
He helps me with every single one, adding lines to them and so on.
Not only did he take the time to help me with every rod I had. He also helped another customer with theirs. Considering I have a handicap and cant feel my fingers.. Him (Bill) Doing this not only was a massive help to me. But it was a huge boost to my moral.
I have been coming to this Dicks Sporting goods for around 10+ Years. In that time, I have never had such a wonderful experience ever!
I will be returning here Exclusively to purchase all my fishing gear and more just because of this. Considering it is out of my way to get to this store, I hope that helps show you the kind of customer service they provide.
Now, full disclaimer, I was not paid to do this review, I was not asked to do this review, and I have no affiliation with Dicks sporting goods in a professional manner.
I am just a customer just like those who are reading this.
If you have had a bad experience in the past, give them another shot. I really hope someone from corporate see this and understands what a value Bill brings to the company. (Btw, On the Receipt it says William but he prefers Bill)
I wanted to do this on google so everyone could see...
Read moreThe fitness department is not well organized. The customer service is terrible. It's hard to find a staff for help, and you will need to go back and forth across the store to get problems solved.
We wanted to try and buy a treadmill, but there are no instructions and help buttons over there. It took us a lot of time to find staff(Staff A) to help us get the emergency key to run the treadmill. The treadmill had an error during the trial. Staff A has no idea how to fix it and just stuck there. I suggested he turn it off/turn it on, but he even didn't know how to do it, saying there are too many machines connected, and he didn't know which one it was. I had to tell him to try the button on the outlet. He finally found the power switch at the back of the machine and the error is cleared. We asked Staff A about the delivery and assembly. He didn't know anything about it and just let us go to the cashier and said if we want to buy, we also need to go to the cashier. We went to the first cashier however he didn't know anything about it. He told us to go to the other cashier on the other side of the store... We walked to the other cashier. After waiting in line, we talked to the cashier, knew the assembly cost, and decided to buy. However, the cashier told us she cannot do it and let us go back to the fitness department... We walked across the store back to the fitness department, and spent more time finding another Staff(Staff B). Staff B is more knowledgeable. He knows the process, and all the cost(why Staff A doesn't know it and we had to go to the cashier?). He led us back to the cashier...(why cannot the cashier just call the staff to the cashier, so we can avoid walking back and forth just to find staff?) When we are waiting in line for the cashier, I asked when we can get it delivered. I learned we needed to wait for more than a month... When discussing with my wife whether we should wait for the delivery or do it ourselves, Staff B left and said he will be back soon. We waited there for more than 10 minutes but he didn't come back. We walked back across the store again to find what's up. After a while, we find Staff B in the fishing department, talking with another customer. We waited for another 5 minutes, but it seemed their conversation is endless. I had to come up to ask, but Staff B just denied me. We waited another few minutes, and I asked again whether he can help or whether he can find someone else to help. He just told us to go to the fitness department to seek help. We walked to the fitness department. As we expected, there's no one there. We felt frustrated after wasting more than one hour. We lost our patience and left the store... We ended up buying it from the manufacturer directly and get it...
Read moreVery beautiful but such a mirage. Wayyyy too big & the selections are minimal which is odd since the store is so large. Its hard to figure out which section is which & do not even think about asking for help. The staff is super unfriendly (not all but the majority). We've only had 2 people, out of the 6 times my family & I have visited, actually speak to us. Everyone else will just stare at you as if they are wondering why you're shopping at the store they work at or as if they're annoyed to be employed during a pandemic when so many are without jobs! We had one girl who had the worst attitude just stare us down while in the mens Champion section on Sunday & instead of stepping aside so we could look at the shirts (it was EXTREMELY busy) she continued to fold the shirts & looked at everyone with such disgust when they would grab one. This prevented multiple people from buying what they wanted & we all just walked away. Its sad that an employee would want to prevent you from spending in their store. I went in this morning only to be stared down by the greeter so I kindly greeted him & started looking around for what I knew I came for only to be watched as if I were a thief. I go to check out & had to once again be the friendly person because the cashier was not in the best mood. I miss the old location & the staff didn't treat everyone as if they were there to rob the place. I agree with the review below about being followed as well. I am African American, my husband is mixed & so is our daughter. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go in this store, I am followed. I take my daughter in, we are followed. My husband & I go in & we are followed. We walk in as a family, we are followed. Its ridiculous & demeaning to say the least! I have watched MULTIPLE people walk in from the mall with large bags & never once buy anything but they are NEVER followed & are actually treated better than someone who walked in from outside & is actually there to buy, not window shop or just to touch stuff. Hoping this store gets better but highly doubtful. Maybe they could rehire the people that want to work & have customer service skills instead of just anyone who walks...
