Thank You to this store ,& more so than I can explain ,but I will try to anyway,,,! My 14 yr old step-son is autistic & absolutely loves this place & this store in particular !! We bring him as often as life allows us to ,which is quite a lot!! That being said tho ,his autism also brings a unique & most often ,very misunderstood ,set of issues ,especially when being in public around unfamiliar people!! More often than not ,when realizing that he is different or when he does something that people are not used to ,no matter how big or small it is ,almost always ,the reaction is one of fear ,disdain ,rudeness or they stare &/or say something amongst themselves that shows a geniune lack of concern as to why he could be different!! & It's nearly always due to his happiness for being there in the first place that's causing his reaction at all!! But ,that being said , NEVER ,Not Once ,regardless of wat it has been ,has a single employee of this store ever said a word ,of any kind ,that has made my son ,or either of us ,feel as if we were wrong ,feel unwelcome ,feel single out , discriminated against ,or been rude in anyway or even spoke of anything that someone has complained about to them ,bcuz of something my son has done to bother someone else in their store!! Besides this ,not only do they all seem to kno who he is ,but everyone there also seems to kno his exact routine & upon arrival ,they instantly welcome him & participate in his unique routine & do it w respect & geniune kindness & understanding!!! Regardless of wat he may do to upset the norm!!! & When considering that more often than not ,we are not able to even make a purchase from them ,,,well ,it means sooo much more ,to him & us ,in our everyday life ,than anything that any 5-⭐ rating could ever explain or even justify!!! So ,w all of the love & appreciation that could ever be ,We say Thank You & God Bless You to Any & All of the people ,big & small ,full-time & part-time , corporate or otherwise ,who have a part in ½Price Books!! You deserve to kno & be told ,how your choice to be the way you all are ,has & does ,go so far & mean so much ,in the everyday life of a truly wonderful & amazing kid!! Thank You All...
Read morea bit overpriced and very very low resale value. I had three bags of stuff including DVDs, CDs, encyclopedias, and fiction books but only made $8. My dad loves to read so I got him something for Christmas which was $15. Realized I could have gotten it cheaper on Amazon. Considering I didn't find the travel book I needed, I'm hoping what I sold was useful to other people. Total retail value was at least $300 so it kind of sucks to Only make $8. They'll probably re-sell it for $10 each. Went back a second time as I found 4 boxes of books in a retieeee office who refused to clean before leaving. Only got $10. Yet each item was unused and worth $15 re sale. Again don't have time for eBay. But that not even $.10 per item. In fact this lady was like yes most of your stuff is worthless so we might just trash it. Not throwing stuff out, goodwill will take this stuff. I need the cash. But not if your...
