On 7/20, in the Aldi (Fairfield) parking lot, I and along with another witness, another customer carelessly neglected their cart filled with heavy items. That cart rolled into the side of our freshly detailed car and caused visible damage.
We saw the customer do it and reported it to Aldi staff and management immediately. Unfortunately, we were met with zero concern, no help, and no accountability. We were told the cameras weren’t working and that Aldi wasn’t responsible — despite this happening on their property.
We followed all the right steps — reported it, spoke to staff, and even contacted the police. Sadly, they gave us no path forward either. It’s incredibly disheartening that Aldi employees would show no care or empathy, especially when we made a genuine effort to handle the situation with respect.
Be careful in this parking lot — there seems to be no support if something goes wrong. Truly disappointing customer service and management. No stars for...
Read moreToday my cashier was not so pleasant. Besty started eating peanut butter instead of ringing me out. No problem employees at Aldi’s work hard. I am understanding but it didn’t end there otherwise I would not have written this complaint. Secondly, she just threw my things everywhere. Not placing them down tossing them and just not pleasant or her energy. No problem employees have bad days too right. I get it. Thirdly, she tosses my cart away from and tell me to “give her the other cart “. No please, no thank you just straight disrespect. I said please and thank you to remind her to use manners as I didn’t like being disrespected like that and she tells me you’re welcome. I said you are welcome. Besty needs to be retrained on her people skills. I hope she is not in management with her attitude as I will feel bad for her employees. Besty do better. This is experience today was not a good one due to your never ending carelessness...
Read moreAldi has a reputation in Germany for their grumpy and unfriendly employees. We found the same here, a very unfriendly cashier. There us really no one else to talk to.
The selection of items was rather "meh". Not much good quality European stuff as we expected, just the same old.
I was surprised to find the US made Haribo Gummy Bears (made with artificial food coloring, because Americans apparently need flashier colors) and not the German made (with all natural flavors and colors). Need to keep getting that through Amazon.
Aldi owns Trader Joe's, but what a difference! People working at TJ are always friendly and seem very happy with their job in general. Shop Rite staff is friendly. So we see no need to go to Aldi, just to save a couple of bucks and do our shopping in a ghost store with a bad atmosphere and carts you can't take without...
