I have not bowled since 2000 and my ball is from 1997 and recently found interest again since my son started a league. I was looking online for a ball since my hands are not the same size anymore. Buddies Pro shop popped up quite a few times on the internet. I originally thought this place was some warehouse that sold and drilled balls,boy was I wrong. I checked out their website and realized they were a pro shop in a bowling alley in Bridgeport Connecticut so I made an appointment and took an hour ride to the shop for a ball. Chris immediately checked out my old ball and began to size my hand to the new ball. Less than one hour later the ball was finished and fit like a glove. I knew I went to the right person when I saw how many balls were being worked on. The more you do something constantly and in large numbers the more perfect your work becomes. I’m throwing the new ball that’s 15lb with as much ease as my old 12lb ball in the pic thanks to Chris making adjustments to my dimensions. I was told to come here by someone who works at my local bowling alley. He told me that they were super knowledgeable and incredibly affordable with beginners packages that include a bag, shoes, and ball. I figured there was some sort of catch like maybe I had to pay to have the ball drilled or something. I was so pleasantly surprised to be wrong. There was no catch at all and the owner Chris took his time explaining to me the differences in balls and shoes. He then measure my hand and grip and drilled my new ball on the spot. I was all done and completely outfitted within 40 minutes. The ball and grip feel perfect and I cant wait to try it out. I bought my wife new shoes while I was there but they ran a bit too small. Ordered two bowling bags and two shoe add ons. The box arrived completely thrashed. Buddies blamed it on the mail carrier. I can concur with that to an extent, but when you ship using very inexpensive and poorly made boxes as well as fail to put any added stuffing to help support the box internally, it is pretty doomed from the start. Buddies was quick to respond at first but ultimately their customer service failed. I would not order from here again. You’ve got to protect the shipped merchandise. You can see from the pictures, it is the seem of the box that totally gave out. Wrap up the merchandise! Protect it so the customer doesn’t have to worry about the overall integrity of the...
