Chaves Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Fairfield

Have frequented this location many times since they opened, here in Fairfield, but in the last few months have been more then very disappointed.....

Ordered rolls for Thanksgiving and when we got home more then half of one of our packages was smashed flat. Then today my husband went to pick up my order of “9 Decorated Gingerbread Cookies” and 1) they were not decorated 2) they were not individually packaged like they should be 3) they are hard. We were not charged for them.....but I ordered them so I could give “6” to a friend that loves Gingerbread Cookies, it’s a standing Christmas treat/joke!!! THANK YOU for RUINING my gift, for it is now to late to get these...

They do not know the meaning of "extra cheese" on my egg & cheese sandwiches I ordered. (But they'll charge you for it.) Gave them 3 chances - each time there was definitely no complying with my request. Plus they take a long time with food; they have the most convoluted order system ever. The person who takes your order makes it. Just hire a cook and a counter person, it's not rocket science, folks. I've been in the service industry for 10 years, and I've never seen/heard of any place doing it this way. It was weird and inefficient, imo. Food was good, but not worth the headache of their order system and the mistakes each...

Purchased 2 cakes in September 2021 - tres leche and a chocolate cake. The person helping me was a young man who swore the cakes were fresh just made…. That was NOT true the alleged chocolate cake was not all chocolate but chocolate and vanilla and was like cardboard - threw it out. The tres leche was fine… buyers be beware of the cake display as they must move some cakes around and are selling week old (2 week old) cakes as fresh cakes. I always ordered and purchased cakes but I do not appreciate the dishonesty of pushing a stale cake off on a loyal customer. Well former...
