Bella Sera Ristorante — Restaurant in Fairfield

I went here as a parting dinner with my family, as they live close by and I was leaving the next day. The service was actually excellent. We were the only people (as far as I could tell) in the restaurant and our waitress/hostess was very attentive. Their wine selection is on the small size of adequate, however there were some really high quality wines featured. The problem was with the food. I got the linguine vongole - which was okay. In hindsight I should not have gotten it with the red sauce, in my experience restaurants typically do better with their white sauce and mussels. Anyhow - my S.O. got the chicken with Marsala sauce and it was not impressive. It was bland, with a flat flavor to the sauce. The mushrooms (if they weren't canned) were definitely not fresh. Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night, had not eaten here in years. Staff was friendly but the service was tediously slow and a fruit fly in my wine was not a great return experience. Got an amazing appetizer then waited 25 mins for an entree. Told my wife the order probably got lost/forgotten and I bet my food comes out underdone. As expected got hastily cooked rare lamb chops. Yesterday was my son's Confirmation and we decided to bring our whole family for the 1st time (definitely won't be our last) to this Nice Family own restaurant. In Short the food was Amazing and the Hospitality was outstanding! We had such a great time on a school night that next thing we knew 2 & 1/2 hours had passed we weren't even phased! They say that time Flies when your having Fun, pair that with Great food and Service & you have GREAT MEMORIES that will last a LIFETIME!
