I visited the Akron David's Bridal on a whim, a week before my October 28th wedding, after alterations with my first dress I purchased from another, smaller boutique, had gone awry - leaving me feeling devastated and dreading how I would look and feel on my wedding day. I picked my original dress out in January of 2022, had been fantasizing about it for over a year, only to reach my final fitting stages to realize that the alterations had not only made it not "THE" dress, but left me feeling totally self-conscious... not exactly how you want to feel a week from your wedding. After spending the night after my fitting pretty much inconsolable, I decided to just SEE if there was any option off the rack at David's Bridal that I might feel better in. I was immediately greeted by Jenna, who took my long winded, teary explanation of why I was there in total stride.. assuring me that this happens more often that I would guess and that she'd do her very best to help me restore that confidence and excitement I was desperately in need of. She expertly walked me through all of the off-the-rack options they had, explained how the styles varied, and told me that if I found something I loved but not in my size, she'd search far and wide at other stores to see if they had it. Jenna proceeded to put me into roughly 10-15 dresses, making sure I tried on every type of style, because at this point - what could it hurt? About 6 dresses in, I tried one on and I immediately felt different and even though Jenna insisted I try on a few more, I just kept coming back to that one. It was the complete opposite of my original dress and I couldn't have loved it more. It just "fit". I ended up purchasing that dress and Jenna pointed me in the direction of an alterations shop who was able to beautifully alter it to my shape and length just a few days before the wedding. Even though the morning of the wedding was naturally total chaos (torrential rain, ruined hair, ect. ect.) I never once felt anything but beautiful in that dress. I'm several weeks late in writing this much needed review, because Jenna was the true hero of that day and frankly, my wedding. Her incredible kindness and patience in what was one of my most heartbreaking moments was above and beyond just customer service. She truly cared about my situation and wanted to help, rather than just make a sale. Coming from a long tenure in a customer facing industry myself, I wanted to recognize just how special Jenna is, especially in an industry that tends to be thankless towards its workers. So thank you, Jenna, for all that you did to help turn my nightmare into a dream come true on my wedding day <3

After weeks of searching for bridal shoes in my area for my June 18th wedding, I was ready to give up and go barefoot. Seriously, my fiance and I visited at least a dozen stores and nobody had bridal shoes that fit or matched my gown. We even went back to some of these stores more than one time to see if they had anything new in stock. All of those trips were a giant waste of time. On Saturday June 15th, my fiance and I made the hour-long trip to Fairlawn and we decided to go to the Summit Mall as our first stop. I almost did not go into the David's Bridal store because I was expecting to pay at least $75 for shoes, and that was if I could even find a pair that matched or fit. Well, I made a leap of faith and decided that we had to go into David's Bridal & at give them a chance. We are so glad we did. After we went into the store we were greeted by a lovely young lady named Jenna. She asked if she could be of assistance, and I told her that I needed a flat ivory shoe. She directed me to the section where the flats were, and two caught my eye. One was a dress shoe and the other one was a lacy sneaker. I tried the dress shoes on and they just didn't look like "me" nor did they have the 6.5 size that I needed. I tried the 6, too small and the 7 was too big. Then I tried on the sneakers and my fiance and Jenna loved the. Once I walked around for a couple of steps, I fell in love with them, too. Jenna made suggestions in order to alter the sneakers to my liking, such as wearing cute, frilly socks and changing the laces. Without her suggestions, I never would have thought of that. I did go to several shoe stores to look for shiny or glittery laces but nobody carried them. A gentleman in the shoe department of a popular department store suggested a nearby craft store. I also found ivory lace stockings with a floral design and some peds at the department store. Perfect match! At the craft store, I found shiny ivory ribbon with pearls that fit through the eyelets. What resulted is a fabulous wedding day shoe. Also, I didn't spend $75. These were under $45 and absolutely what I need and love. Can't wait to show them off tomorrow! Jenna, you saved my wedding day and I cannot thank you enough! *standing ovation*

First, let me be clear that my 1 star review is about the alterations process, not the buying process. My consultant was amazing and trying on dresses was so much fun. If you are planning to just buy (not alter) a dress from here, go for it. Great experience. Moving on to my nearly $300 alterations - I DO NOT recommend this place for alterations. The way my wedding dress bustle was pinned vs the outcome of the actual sewing was appalling. As my mom was learning to tie the bustle, newly sewn ribbon literally fell off of my gown. Then, a girl who apparently didn't know how to sew attempted to reattach it to my dress while I was wearing it. Due to the terrible appearance of the bustle, I asked for a change to a different type of bustle - one with 3 buttons. Two weeks later, I was presented with crooked buttons sewn onto my gown. I don't think attaching 3 buttons (1 in the middle slightly higher with 1 on each side of it at an even height) should be that difficult, but apparently it was. I sent my dress to the back and waited while the buttons were sewn on again. At the shop, it appeared to be fixed, but it quickly became evident on my wedding day that the buttons were still crooked. Additionally, the loops for the buttons had pulled into the fabric and we had to use a sharp pin to bring the loops to the top layer so that I could be bustled for my reception. The only thing they did correctly was the hem. Avoid this place for alterations at all costs.

I'm a little late to the party, but I had the most incredible experience at David's Bridal, and it’s all thanks to the outstanding team of associates who made my visit truly unforgettable. From start to finish, everyone went above and beyond to ensure I found the perfect wedding dress and felt amazing in it.

A special shoutout to Mya, who was the epitome of professionalism and expertise. Her warm, enthusiastic attitude made the process so enjoyable. She listened carefully to my vision, guided me through countless beautiful options, and ensured I felt confident and excited every step of the way. Her ability to pair styles and fits with my personality and preferences was unmatched. Weddings are stressful enough. Thank you, MYA!!! 😊

The experience was elevated even further by the fabulous Maria, the assistant manager, she also assisted me with other questions I had, she was upbeat with positive energy and very knowledgeable which made choosing my dress so much fun, and stress free. Together, Mya and Maria created a supportive and joyful atmosphere that I will never forget. MARIA you're the best! ❤️

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Evie, who handled my alterations with absolute precision and care. The fit was perfect, and every detail was flawless, ensuring my dress was not just beautiful but felt tailor-made for me. I couldn't have been happier for how flawless she made my dress!

I can’t recommend David's Bridal enough, especially this amazing team. If you’re looking for a place that will make your bridal journey fun, again, stress-free, and truly special, ask for Mya, Maria, and Evie, you won’t be...
