I agree the store offers a wide variety of cards and trinkets. However, I have been to this store several times, and I get the sense that they do not trust all customers, they make you feel uncomfortable and rushed. Everyone knows that in order to find the right card you might take a bit longer to look through all the selections, but that is when they make it obvious that they want you to pick what you want, pay, and get out. BEWARE if you come in with children, they will follow you throughout the store pretending they are there to offer assistance, but it is really to keep an eye on what you and your kids are doing. It's invasive and quite frankly annoying as hell! Then, you have people waiting by the exit eye balling your kids to make sure they didn't take anything! I rather take my business to Walgreens and CVS. Lastly, they have a minimum credit/debit card purchase of $5. The money is not the issue, but if you're stopping in to buy a last minute card for a special occasion and only have your debit card why am I forced to purchase gum or something irrelevant to buy a card that cost $3? This store is located in Cliffside Park for crying out loud, but you feel like you are in some seedy bodega in NYC where its CASH ONLY!! Honestly take your...
Read moreTL;DR: shop elsewhere due to price gouging, unethical business practices.
I called the shop to ask after a recently viral ornament. I was told by an employee, Raj, that the shop did have it, and he would hold it for me. I expressed gratitude, stating I’d be driving in from out of state because this ornament would be the perfect gift for my dad.
Raj then stated that everyone in the country wanted this particular ornament, and that resellers were charging $150 on eBay. Raj then told me that in order to purchase the ornament, I would have to buy two additional ornaments. I ultimately declined, as the ornament in and of itself is $65 and requires a $15 charging power accessory. It seemed absurd to have to tack on additional charged.
I think that it’s rather tacky and, frankly, gross, to price gouge. It isn’t as though I was trying to buy out their stock to obviously resell them. This employee should be ashamed of themselves. And if the shop owner agrees with this tactic, they ought to be ashamed too. If not, I hope they take action and remediate this employee set on taking advantage of...
