Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville, NC, has potential as a shopping destination, but its cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Walking through the mall, it’s hard to ignore the overflowing trash cans, dirty floors, and neglected restrooms that seem to be in a constant state of disarray. Sticky surfaces, litter scattered across seating areas, and food court tables that rarely get wiped down make for an unpleasant shopping experience.
The restrooms are arguably the worst offender—many stalls are either out of order or visibly filthy, with wet floors and an overwhelming odor that suggests they haven’t been properly maintained in some time. Given how many people visit the mall daily, it’s concerning that management doesn’t prioritize basic hygiene.
One of the most disappointing areas is the children’s play area. It’s shockingly dirty, with grime-covered equipment, sticky floors, and an unpleasant smell that suggests it hasn’t been properly cleaned in ages. Parents often express concerns about the filth, and it's easy to see why—food crumbs, spilled drinks, and even trash are commonly left sitting for hours. The play structures themselves feel greasy, and you can spot dust and debris in corners that clearly haven't been touched in a long time. It’s unacceptable for a space designed for kids to be so neglected. THE CARPET IS ATROCIOUS I FELT BAD FOR MY KIDS TO EVEN SIT ON THE CARPET TO TAKE THEIR SHOES OFF!
Beyond the cleanliness issues, the overall upkeep of the mall is lacking. Dusty store displays, grimy handrails, and stained carpets in certain areas give off an air of neglect. While some stores and kiosks maintain their own areas well, the common spaces fall short of even basic expectations.
For a mall that serves as one of the primary shopping centers in Fayetteville, Cross Creek desperately needs better maintenance and more frequent cleaning. Until management steps up its efforts, the shopping experience will continue to be overshadowed by the mall’s overall...

Read moreThey'll have what you need if you don't mind security following your relatives around. Plus sometimes it can be a bit overcrowded so be prepared to accidently run into people quite a bit. There's also a large markup in most of the department stores, where you can buy the items online for 2/3rds the price of what you can there if you don't mind waiting a few days through a week. Kiosk associates are extremely rude and will rub up on you or grab you if that's what it takes to speak with you. People who walk around dress as if they just got out of bed and are trying to see if they can't buy something for $10. Food court isn't bad, many selections and friendly staff. In the parking lot people act really stupid as you're walking to your vehicle much further out. I'm speaking of instances like, mothers letting their kids run out in front of cars, then rip one of their doors open, jump in and start beating on the driver. If you hold the door open for one person, be prepared to hold it open for their entire family and the next few coming buy, if you try to crawl in, be prepared to be told to go "f yourself." In overcrowded places I tend to travel alone or just with one other person, I try to stay observant. This is only some of what I've seen or experienced. My main point is online shopping is doing away with plenty of malls, since there's never a good experience at one. You're either here to hang out, or are here to throw your money away on something you'll wear...
