I must be the crazy one- with all of these other positive reviews, the problem has to be with me right? Ordered Kryonaut thermal paste on December 19, and received an order confirmation the same day. Was a little worried about ordering from some random online business I never heard of, but they were one of the few authorized resellers of Kryonaut the manufacturer lists, so I figured I would take the risk.
A week went by with no update at all. I tried contacting them about it, but their online contact form banned me from actually sending a message. Apparently “I was wondering about the status of order number XXXX” is spam that they would prefer not to receive. Ok fine. I responded back to the email I got the order confirmation from. No response. Days later I searched for another email contact and asked there about an order status. No response. I called the business. After going through their weird google voice thing, there was no answer. Tried calling another time or two with no success. Called Monday January 4th. Someone actually picked up, but they said they had a customer in front of them and put me on hold. I waited for a few minutes and was HUNG UP on. I called back about 10 minutes later but they did not pick up. Called back again yesterday, 1/8 and finally got someone and they said there are sometimes back orders, but it was unusual that there would be absolutely no information on an order for three weeks.
He said the owner would call me back and I made a note that there was a PayPal complaint I had lodged against this order, and that he really would need to get back to me that day or else I would have to escalate this as a matter of fraud since the period to do so will be expiring soon since it has been so ridiculously long since the order was placed. Do you think the owner actually did call me back that day?
Before you claim you never had a customer of this name, the order number is (removed), and the PayPal complaint is (removed). I thought they might have been closed over the holiday or that could have been why my shipment was slow, but nope, they were posting all through the holidays about the great shipments of graphics cards they got so business was moving right along. They may be great guys and you might have an awesome experience if you buy your parts from them in person, but for the love of god do not expect any kind of service if you order online from them. If there’s a backlog- tell me about it. But there has been absolutely no communication.
I’ll make this easy- Ship me my Kryonaut on Monday, or refund my money. PayPal will make you refund my money one way or the other. Perhaps this review will shame the owner to take some kind of action, or maybe the complete lack of communication will continue. Who knows. All I know I’m over it at this point and just want my damn thermal paste, wherever it comes from.
Update: Owner FINALLY contacted me yesterday, after 3 weeks of me trying to get information about my order. Will consider updating review if I actually...
Read moreTLDR: Bought thermal paste, resistor broke on Motherboard. Took it back to them for repair, got told it was going to be $1200 after labor, exploring other avenues instead. After getting the computer back, opened it up to get SSDs, there were multiple missing screws along with major components still disconnected from motherboard, including the power button.
To start I would like to say that I would never have taken my computer here unless absolutely necessary. After reading some of the other reviews and the replies from the store I see they are not very accountable in how they practice doing business and are also not very professional when they are working on the computers or talking to customers.
To give background for the complaint I came in on a Saturday to buy thermal paste to repaste my GPU and CPU on my laptop as I was experiencing growing temps on my computer. The "Owner" helped me and it was a pleasant experience but that's about where it ends. I went home and completed the job on repasting my computer everything went flawlessly until putting a singular cable back in. My dad was helping me and he slipped putting the cable in and broke off a resistor (which we didn't notice till later). The computer works but will no longer register a power cable plugged in so it will not charge. I decided to take it back in to see if they would be able to replace the resistor on the board since I had already found the problem. I took it in and the man behind the front desk (who I don't remember their name but had graying hair) was for a lack of a better description was completely condescending, rude and a total douchebag. Stating that he had been aware of what I was doing with thermal paste he would have never sold me the thermal paste without asking me 20x "If I was sure" and when I would have responded with yes he continued to say he would have told me "Well, see you next week!". During the interaction he also continually made sure to comment that it was I/my lack of knowledge/incompetence that broke the computer. His customer service abilities seem to have some incompetence and could do with a refresher course on hospitality. I let this go since I needed my computer repaired and this is one of the only computer repair places around with a "good" review score.
I was contacted later and told it could not be repaired and the motherboard would need to be replaced entirely instead. Which would cost $1200 after labor. At that point I decided I would look at alternative solutions, such as building my own desktop or just getting a Chromebook so I could do my work that needed a computer. Upon picking up my Laptop from their store and opening it up at home to remove the SSDs. I discovered MANY errors and missing items.
List of missing items are in a picture...
Read moreUPDATE ON 7/29: 7 weeks after order cancelled and refund has been claimed to be processed. 5 weeks of escalation (supposed to be 3-5 business days) since not posted. The respond I get from business (what their bank tells them): "There is a problem with the cardholder so they can't send the refund and investigating". THEIR BANK HAS MILLIONS OF CUSTOMERS AND MY CASE IS WAITING FOR INVESTIGATION. MY CARD IS GOOD TO PAY BUT NOT "GOOD" TO GET A REFUND :) ACCOUNT/CARD IS ACTIVE. MY BANK SAYS EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT. SUPPOSED TO GET An UPDATE TODAY BUT OF COURSE NONE:
NEVER EVER.
Well it looks like they only serve their own community and scam the rest. I waited for a GPU order for 3 months. Availability issue. This part is OK but it has been a month since the order was cancelled and they claimed to issue the refund for my order. No refund has been posted to my card so far. They also stopped responding to emails/chat/messages through their website. On a phone call, they claimed that they sent the funds to their "financial payment vendor/bank" but for some "unknown reason" this bank is not sending the funds to me. How convenient for them. This has been another 2 weeks. Never purchase anything at least online. Just stay away. I will, of course, pursue the refund through appropriate authorities as this look like the only option against this unresponsive and...
