The store is nice, very open and clean with a good deal of merchandise and hobby supplies. The gentleman who greeted me was courteous and polite. One of the owners asked me if I needed help and was also courteous. All that being said, I gave the store two stars based on one incident: I walked in and was looking around. I went to the Games Workshop section and looked at a few models and then I went looking for what I went there to find, a jigsaw puzzle. I was squared down looking at the puzzles (that's when the owner spoke to me). I was looking for something specific and they didn't have it (not their fault at all) so I looked at the plastic models for a bit and then left. I was wearing shorts and a black Spartan Race t-shirt. I have long sandy blonde hair, am a Caucasian male, approximately six feet tall and roughly 170 pounds. I did walk out somewhat quickly. When I got to my car I saw the owner had come out of the store (she had been in the back and must have rushed out immediately after me) and she took a photo of my license plate with her phone. I understand inventory control (i.e., theft protection) but that seemed a little extreme. I'm a 40 year old military retiree; I don't need my character questioned in such a manner. I don't fault them for wanting to protect their business, but some suaveness and subtlety would have been nice. I won't be back. [Please note that I have been both polite in my review and accurate in what transpired. Maybe there has been a lot of theft there, I honestly do not know. I give the store itself 4 stars, but this incident was a sour experience and needed to be taken...
Read moreI don't really leave reviews often but after 8 years of shopping here, today was an encounter I wish not to have again.
Walked in at opening. Came to the counter to pay and I guess I wasn't seen even though they were right there. The middle aged lady had earphones in. So I walked around and then came back.
Gave my number and asked about rewards, because after 8 years, you'd think I'd have racked up something? I've been coming here since '15 for all my Traxxas needs and Gundam stuff.
After dropping $40 on a Gundam kit and asking about my "rewards", I was mid sentence interrupted for her to take a call and deal with another customer over the phone? After 5 minutes or so of just standing there, she finishes her call and it felt bothersome to even continue to ask about my account.
Come to find out, they typed my email in wrong and all these years, nothing for rewards. So I asked how it works and what about past stuff and I was informed of pretty much nothing and I suggested I'd just Google it myself since she wasn't of much help.
I've kept coming back because Darren? was a blast to chat about models and gundams. He's since left but I kept coming for Gundam. Ive always dealt with Kevin or another younger kid without issue. After today, I think I'll stick to online kits and parts. This wasn't my first encounter with this...
Read moreThis hobby store has a lot. They have parts for all kinds of RC. They have different toys and arts and crafts type things. Only problem I saw is they only have one knowledgeable person about RC cars and racing. One of the women insisted on trying to explain to me how a Traxxas charger worked when I had already told her I knew how. Went in another time to buy an RC truck and one woman convinced me to buy a truck I had thought about a couple of times but did not know much about the truck. Everything that she said about it was great was actually not great at all. She talked about it having all kinds of upgradable parts only problem is the basic parts that they had on the car should have already been upgraded for the price. You can buy every single other one that already has adjustable a arms. I'm not upset that I bought it I should have done more research myself. I'm upset because the woman portrayed it as being excellent when really it is not ready for racing at all and it's going to require a lot of money to get it ready. I will continue to go back only because they have parts that I cannot...
