There are a few professional fields that have little room for error. The medical field is one of them. Mistakes happen, human error is a factor of life, yet when these errors happen in the medical field it can come with great consequences. When these mistakes pass through multiple health care professionals without being identified it is alarming. My doctor ordered a follow-up procedure for me at Valley Imaging in September after a routine chest scan gave cause for concern. I am one of the individuals United Health Care insurance delayed and denied. ($$$) After months of waiting for this more thorough scan it was scheduled January 16th. Valley Imaging offers 24-hour results, but due to weekends, holidays, snow, etc. I did not hear from my doctor. I contacted Valley Imaging and picked up a copy of my report. I don't have a medical degree, but I can understand the basics. I contacted my doctor's office and it was in for review. Late today, I called my doctor's office. The lab tech read the doctor's notes to me. It was the same information I learned by reading the report I picked up on my own. I said, "I come in peace, but if I understood correctly this scan is just a repeat of the scan I already had in September. However, I understood this scan was to be more complex with more information about my challenges" My doctor's lab tech said "Ma'am, you're correct" I said, "Okay, crap happens. Did the doctor order it correctly? Did insurance deny the more comprehensive scan? Where is the error?" My doctor ordered it correctly. My insurance approved the more comprehensive scan. The Imaging facility failed to perform the correct scan. The Imaging facility received the same insurance approval as my doctor. They REQUIRE insurance approval before making appointments. Hmmm... The procedure is approved by my insurance company until February 1st. I called Valley Imaging...after 30 minutes on hold a stern woman told me the order for my procedure was a verbal order by my doctor. Verbal? On what planet? While requiring prior authorized insurance approval before even making an appointment? Dear Lord they must think we are all stupid!!!! Nothing is resolved. I don't know if I am more disgusted by United Health Care Insurance and their delays, Valley Imaging for failing to perform the correct scan, or my doctor for failing to catch the error of the scan or contacting me. Here we are folks... Take two extra strength Tylenol and call me in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could leave a zero star review I would. Incompetent as they come! Three times have I had to reschedule a CT and MRI appointments with this office. I receive a call first to schedule it, and I did. I get a call a the day before I had an MRI and CT scheduled, telling me the referral was sent to the wrong office and they need to reschedule for the CT, and the authorization for the MRI was expired. Mind you, the office that the CT was sent to was Valley Radiology, in the same exact building, and not only that, but they were the ones scheduling my appointments, with me making sure to ask that the authorizations would be valid by then, but no matter. I get the referral changed and yet again I get told I need to reschedule. I scheduled the CT for today, MAKING SURE TO ASK THE REPRESENTATIVE ON THE PHONE IF THE AUTHORIZATION WOULD BE VALID FOR THE APPOINTMENT TODAY! i was assured it would be, but when i go today, at 8 in the morning, not only did they take 30 minutes to even get me through registration, but after they register me they call me and tell me the authorization expired! How incompetent are you?! You receive the referral and have it in your hands when you schedule an appointment and you can't see that the appointment date you give me is after the authorization expired? Or that it went to the wrong clinic? Three times! Is this the service I'm to expect when I go to my two other MRI's that I have scheduled in August? When I speak to medicaid I get assured that the doctor's offices are the ones to make sure everything is within the time frame of the authorization, and that's a reasonable expectation. But it seems this office doesn't know how to read through the referral...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey called me to schedule an appt off my gynoās referral for a breast ultrasound because i strictly did not want a mammogram and i donāt have to explain why, my right, my choice. The receptionist tried to trick me into scheduling a mammogram by automatically scheduling both as she read off the summary of my upcoming appt. I corrected her and told her i was only scheduling for an ultrasound. We agreed on a date and time. I received a request to confirm my appt a few days before. I confirmed. I arrived at my appt, checked in and was asked to go upstairs. Checked in there and was asked to have a seat and wait. After waiting 30mins i was taken back to a room and left for 10 mins. The nurse said i would have a consult with the radiologist first. After 10 mins Irene Vasoc came in the room and sat in front of me and began questioning why i didnāt want a mammogram. She then told me they donāt do ultrasounds there unless i was having specific issues with my breasts. An entire waste of my time. If they didnāt do best ultrasounds there, they should have told me that before scheduling. Wasted a day off from work and my morning. So sick of the dictatorship in health care. Itās not what you want, Iām the patient, itās my body. I decide. People need to take more control of their own health. If thereās tools really and truly work then there wouldnāt be a huge market nor the epidemic we have with all cancers. Weāre not safer. Change the laws about what you can grow our food with and create our products with and then...
