Public Storage — Local services in Federal Heights

I rented this storage on line, it was super easy to do however my first month for a $1.00 turned into $35.00 and their reasons is I rented it on the 29th so I was charge a prorated amount and then my rent was do on the first so I paid another pro rated amount, even though I selected the first of May as my move in date. 🤦 When ordering on line they charge you for a lock and if you have one however they will refund it if you prove to them once you get there. So I show the gal my lock and she tells me how easy it is to break, and I ask her well doesn't your cameras keep in eye on the storages, her response was " they do, but may not always catch it because they go this way and that way, our locks are better because they would have to grind it to get it off and we would hear that". The description said the storage facility was clean, well lit and secure with cameras. Well my storage was not clean, and after we cleaned it out and loaded our belonging into it we we looking for the cameras and could not find any! I chose this storage for the location and description on their website and I now wish I would have seen it first because that saying "just because it's on the internet doesn't make it true" couldn't...

Apparently public storage likes to gift loyal customers with a rental increase after six months! The best part is i was not informed in any way whatsoever even though my contract reads they will give 30 days notice of rental increase. Pretty shady. I broke my key inside the lock (their keys are super flimsy, buy your own.) and couldnt lock my unit, i left to sort it and i had other things going on as well so when i made it back to my unit several hours later it was locked by staff and office was closed. Wasted time and gas. Nobody informed me this lock would be placed, in fact i received a phone call about it and informed them id be back, and after that i received an email that read they cannot secure my unit for me and warning me to secure it so my belongings don't go missing. So if they cant lock it why did they lock it? I appreciate wanting to keep my things safe but we were in communication and i didnt appreciate not having access to my unit when i need to. After renting the unit I called several times during business hours for more information about getting the rental lock. I finally had to leave a message but i didn't get a call back until the next day which push my move in by another day which costed me time and money. The facility was dirty with trash everywhere. Homeless people with tents camped on the other side of the fence. The gate was opened and unsecured. There was trash in the unit when I first opened it with exposed wires in the unit. The unit ddoor is damaged at the bottom. The unit description said you can fit up to three bedrooms in it with large furniture but really only able to fit one maybe 2 rooms worth of stuff in it. The light in the unit didn't work and there was barely any lights outside. No wonder they give an online discount because if I would have seen it first I would have never rented it! The first chance I get I'm moving to a different company. I don't know if all there facilities are like this one but this one...
