My boyfriend and I decided to stop by to try out a new Korean fried chicken spot which apparently isn't their first location, so I definitely wanted to give it a try. As we arrived, we were welcomed warmly with the cashier. The menu is pretty concise and simple to understand. One issue with this establishment is that all other Korean restaurants or Korean fried chicken places always provide pickled radishes with an order of Korean fried chicken. This is not the cause with Chicko Chicken and they also charge for the pickled radish, which is strange and annoying.
The inside is nice, very white and bright. They were playing K-pop inside. There were different tables and a counter with plenty of chairs for diners. They have a fridge with different drinks to go with your order as well.
We got a half and half with cheese snow and soy garlic with French fries and opted to dine in. It took several minutes for us to get our order despite being the only ones there and there were maybe one take out order. I gave them grace though as I know they just recently opened up. They gave us these very flimsy paper boats to eat our chicken and didn't provide water, but once I asked then they decided to give us water. Additionally, there was little specks in the paper cups so it was a bit of a waste. The chicken and French fries were great though. The chicken was juicy and fried to crispy perfection. It was just really rough to eat our food as the chicken would tip over every time I tried to put it in the boat provided. I would recommend them to get plates at the very least to accommodate diners. We only chose to dine in as I hate soggy fried chicken and prefer to eat it as it comes out. Other than that, it was a really solid experience but I think other Korean fried chicken places are better as it is just a few dollars more to receive pickled radish, a salad, and...
Read moreI am absolutely obsessed with this restaurant! I remember when I noticed the Opening Soon signa since they have such a great, central location. What encouraged me to try them though what I received some coupons in a ValPack that gave huge discounts.
I've already gone at least three times since they've opened.
I always call in, and the staff are informative and friendly.
I also love that the restaurant is open late, so it's nice on nights where my partner and I work late and don't want to cook. The restaurant itself is very clean, modern, and peacefully quiet and yet feels alive.
The food absolutely blew me out of the water though. I'm slowly working through the menu, but their signature Shake Shake fries are so worth it, and the buldak chicken is the best hands down. I love fried chicken, and let me say that the breading on the chicken is probably some of the best I've ever had. The breading is perfectly crispy even with the sauces, and the chicken is cooked through and not too dry. This is the kind of chicken you'll eat all in one sitting even if you're full. The chicken also holds up pretty well as leftovers, and doesn't...
Read moreChicken tasted fresh which was good. Sauce was just okay. French fries tasted the best though. Overall kind of fresh homemade taste which is okay.
Dined in and tbh I felt like the service was bad. I believe it was the owner at the register and I asked him for some water cups and he looked at me like I was insane for asking and said NO. Which is okay but attitude is not necessary 😕 also looking at another persons review and they got water cups 😐 also I got water cups from the buried location before!!
Overall the chicken is fresh and crispy. The sauce is not that special but acceptable, like I said homemade vibes. Price is good and reasonable. Service is hit or miss which is funny because the part time girlies are way more nicer and generous than the actual owners…
Is it as good as fried chicken from Korea? No. It’s still good but saying it’s as good as from Korea is misleading lol but I would still come again because it is fresh and seems like quality chicken and not like some mangled chicken from a fast food joint. Maybe I’ll go...
