I had a really uncomfortable and disappointing experience with an employee (middle age-older Asian man) here today. We were trying to ship birthday presents in a medium-large size, medium weight box and were told it was going to cost $70. When I inquired with the man about if it would lower our price if I repacked the items in a smaller box or perhaps shipped it with UPS instead, I was simply trying to ask the opinion of this individual so that my husband and I could figure out the best way to ship birthday presents to family as we are not financially thriving right now and would like to know our options. The response I got was a very smug “I would never tell anyone to go to a competitor. That would be like Sears telling a customer to go to JCPenney.” Huh. In my experience, whether it’s at a hardware store, hair salon, department store, etc I have always had employees kindly direct me to another store if their store can not provide the product or service that I am seeking. Isn’t that considered better customer service than trying to defensively pressure someone into purchasing services that don’t fit their needs? I already use USPS for 99% of my usual shipping needs, in addition to paying for a PO Box, so it’s not like losing this one singular transaction would have truly “lost” the USPS much. Also, it’s not like the $70 was coming out of this mans own wallet, and it was very odd to experience someone with such a lack of understanding and humanity in...
Read moreI don't understand why this branch has a phone number listed if their not going to answer. My husband and I were waiting for a package from USCIS to be delivered to my parents home. We waited a month and no package. After contacting USCIS they gave us a tracking number and the tracking number said the package was delivered but nothing was been received (the documents inside are very important and it's highly unlikely that it was misplaced because we've been waiting 2 years to get to this point). My husband waited on the national line for an hour for them to send the Twin lakes branch a message to contact my husband. I missed the call and received a voicemail from Raj? but he sounded like calling us was incredibly inconvenient and left the same phone number listed on there website for us to call them back at. HOW DO WE CALL THEM BACK WHEN THEY DON'T PICK UP THE PHONE????? and there voicemail is full. I would never bother with this post office if our package wasn't so important. All we needed to know was if the package was dropped off at the wrong house or returned. My husband and I relocated to a different part of Washington making things even more difficult. Before I have to pay $455 to replace the package sent from USCIS, I would at least like to know everything was done to locate it. I don't think that's too...
Read moreWhat a worthless postal manager. When speaking with her, this person refused to listen and simply only spoke. I was gone 3 weeks and allegedly my mail as a single person accumulated to the point where it was all sent back to the sender. I asked why and the female nonlistening manager stated that carriers have the right to return all mail after non pickup after 3 to 10 days. We the home owners don't have a right to keep our mail in our mail boxes longer than 3 to 10 days according to her. After this, allegedly they hold our mail for 10 days before returning it to sender. So we home owners have no rights according to this obnoxious postal manager and postal carriers have rights to return our mail at will. Amazing how dumb this woman was. Mail was taken from my box on the 22nd of Oct and not held for 10 days but immediately returned to sender. Had they held it the 10 days, I would be picking it up now on the 24th of Oct, but no, according to this rude and moronic female, it is all my fault and there is nothing I can do about it. And why is it we dislike postal...
